Strada Smart Bike Computer

The CatEye Strada Smart Bike Computer is the latest inheritor of computer line that's so ubiquitous virtually every serious cyclist has had experience with it. Compared to the original Strada, the Strada Smart is both slimmer and less tangly, the latter quality stemming from its Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Instead of coiling a sensor wire around your brake housing 200 times, you can just attach the Strada Smart to you bar, sync with a smart phone, and roll.

Despite the decrease in overall volume, CatEye manages to increase the Strada Smart's screen size by 23%, making the large, easy to read information even more readily available. It's a glance-friendly design that lets you keep your eyes on the road ahead as much as possible.

With the convenience of wireless comes the risk of crossed signals, but the Strada Smart features a built in failsafe: 30 channels of communication must all align between sensor and head unit before a link is established, so the ubiquity of the model doesn't engender a failure of proper function. When paired with the appropriate sensors (all sold separately), the Strada Smart can display all of the usual speed, cadence, distance, and time metrics, and it also adds altitude, power, heartrate, and phone alerts to the pile. Post-ride, data can be viewed, parsed, and managed with your choice of training apps, including CatEye's own Atlas program.
