Look better and pedal faster.

Castelli's Vizio Due Women's Shorts start with the idea that shorts must comfortably stay in place in order for them to be comfortable. So, they designed a curved waistband out of Action Power Lycra that offers gentle compression and is abrasion resistant. Inside the waistband is lightweight elastic to make sure it holds. When you put the shorts on, you'll find that the waistband is higher in the back and lower in the front. This position keeps the shorts in place, is pleasantly comfortable, and keeps the jersey sitting on top of the shorts rather than exposing skin. The front is low enough so that you don't feel like you're wearing a girdle, holding in your stomach and preventing you from breathing deeply.

Castelli perfected the cut of the panels in the back, so not only would the shorts fit well, but flatter the wearer. If you follow the back panels down the legs, you'll notice a few other features. First, you'll see the reflective strips on each leg. Then, you'll see the back of the leg cuffs. Castelli has done something interesting here; they're using neither their 100% Giro++ grippers, nor are they stitching in gripper elastic that includes a silicone bead. Each cuff is a two-panel design. The front has Castelli's Giro++ grippers, the soft, comfortable, wide material you'll find holding their team shorts in place. The back has Action fabric, so you're legs don’t feel like they've got a rubber band around them.

The chamois on the Vizio Due is the KISS3 donna-specific seat pad. It's smaller and a bit wider than the men's. It's a one-piece stretch pad with differing densities so you've got protection where you need it and don't have material in your way where you don't.

The Castelli Vizio Due Women's Shorts come in Black, Red, Anthracite, and White and are available in five sizes from X-Small through X-Large. The legs have a 6.5 inch inseam.

  • Comfortable waistband hold shorts in place without binding
  • Two rear reflective inserts prevent binding
  • Leg grippers prevent shorts from shifting or riding up

Castelli Women's Vizio Bike Short

These shorts are super comfortable (compared to other Castelli shorts) and are lightweight / very breathable. The height of the waist is normal, I usually prefer a high waisted short. Overall I am very pleased with the quality and am happy that these white shorts are not see through!

Not the best

The chamois is very stiff and uncomfortable. There are definitely much better shorts for a cheaper price.

Very stiff chamois

I bought these because I had some Castelli Tyras that I loved. The pad on the Tyras is not near as thick and stiff as the pad on these Vizio Dues. Also, they run smaller than the Tyras. I find Castelli's sizing to be inconsistent for their shorts, but so are a lot of other brands. I would rather spend my money on some other shorts I know I'll get more use out of, such as Giordana.

Responded on

I've wondered why most of Castelli's offerings warrant their apparel for only 30 days!
I agree about quality, proven lines like Giordana (and some others), which also stand behind their product for a year anyway. 30 days doesn't inspire much confidence...

I could take them or leave them...quality is lacking.

I am on the fence about these shorts. The chamois is great in them but the waist is very big compared to the rest of the short. I wear a size small and in a small, the shorts fit but the waist feels too big, especially by the end of a ride. They are do-able shorts as long as you do not wear warmers with them. The warmers (also Castelli) did something weird to them and made them bunch up on the leg bands. The more I rode, the higher the leg bands rode up...annoying. Additionally, after ONE delicate/cold water wash in a front loading washer, inside out and a flat/hang dry the logo started peeling off. Apparently, all Castelli logos start coming off, either cracking or peeling, within a few wears. Unacceptable.

Maybe one reason most of Castellie's bike wear has only a 30-day warrenty?!

Can't get much better

Honestly, I'm sort of new to cycling - but the longer my distances become, the more I come back to these shorts. As the other reviewers said, they're very flattering without being too short. Outside of the aesthetic aspect, the chamois in these is AWESOME. I went for a 50 mile ride today, & even without having built up the tolerance in my sit bones, I was comfortable!
Castelli typically runs small, so I was going between an XS and a Small. I wear a 26" waist & am about 5'7 so ended up going with the small - & let me tell you, when I got them it was quite an effort to put them on.
However, they have stretched out the perfect amount and fit me like a glove.
Honestly these are some of the best shorts out there in terms of fit and function, don't hesitate to spend your hard earned money on them - they're well worth it!
Can't wait to buy them in more colors :]

Wondering what size to get. I am 5'6 and...

Wondering what size to get. I am 5'6 and weigh about 115, and I usually get medium. I have the Castelli knickers in Medium and love them.

I'd say an extra small...I am 5-7/125 lbs and while the smalls fit in the thighs and butt, the waist is too large.

4 1/2 stars!

I have these shorts in 3 of 4 colors (no one can pull of white), and I love them! First, the quality is phenomenal - I've crashed twice and both pair held up without a scratch anywhere. And, the feel of the material is so soft against your skin. Second, the chamois is comfortable enough for 50+ mile rides. I will mention, the gray chamois feels bigger than the red & black. When I'm walking around in them, i definitely feel like I'm wearing a diaper (which is part of where the 4 1/2 stars come in and not 5), but then the long ride is much more comfortable because of the extra cush. Third, the fit is overall great. But, I think I'm in-between sizes. I'm 5'5", 122 lbs, and have them in both small and medium. The small fits like a glove, the medium can be a little baggy; on occasion I can feel the butt get caught on the seat when I'm starting up from a stoplight. Overall, I'd recommend them, they are worth the money!

I think you are definitely a small, if not an x-small. I am 5'8, 135 lbs, pants sz 4 long, and I wear a small. I have worn these shorts for 3+ years, various versions. Once you wash and wear they stretch a bit, so you have to go on the sizing after a wash, instead of the tighter fit off the rack/brand new. Hope this helps!

They also fit great and the chamois is top notch.

I Love Castelli

Castelli cycling clothes are amazing. These shorts are no different. The fabric is super comfortable and the fit is very flattering. I rode 75 miles in them and had only minor discomfort on my booty, but I do have boney, sensitive sit bones. These shorts are my favorite though and I'm super stoked I bought them.

Awesome for on- and off-road riding

I've had these shorts for a few months, and they have quickly become my favorite pair. I put them to the test in a muddy 12-hour mountain bike race last weekend, and even after 40 miles on the trail there was no chafing and they were super comfortable. I prefer a tighter fit, so I bought my regular size and while they are snug, they are definitely not too tight. I have the Castelli Madeleine Bib Shorts and had to size up for those, but the Vizio Due seem to fit true to size.

Awesome for on- and off-road riding

I finally found the pair of biking shorts that are both flattering and comfortable. I am so glad I spent the extra money and got these shorts. They are wonderful. I rode 70 miles on Sunday and had no issues of discomfort. Definately a castelli fan now!

Love these in spite of some flaws

These are super shorts! They feel supportive and are very flattering. I love the reflective piece on the hamstrings. I chose the red because I liked the contrasting trim on the thighs. The red is gorgeous, though a bit sheer. These have a tight fit and are designed for serious cyclists (typically a slight build) so I had to size up to allow for a little more room in the thighs; so far the waist has worked out but, after 3-4 rides, I'm starting to wonder if it will strech out and become too lose. My other concern is that some stitching has come loose. I am going to try them on a few more rides but this may be a significant quality issue (I read about someone else having this issue on another site but these looked and felt so good I had to try them.) Fingers crossed they don't fall apart.

Responded on

I have these shorts, as well as the Perla's. Both are comfy. I am, however, also noticing some potential quality issues (stitching coming loose after a 3-4x wearing them). Ironically, the Perla's seem better made. And yet, I keep reaching for these.

I also think they are stretching out a bit (and no, I have not lost any weight!). Just stretching a bit.

One more thing. The elastic on the leg is starting to roll.

So all in all, I am a little disappointed given the price differential - but I remain brand loyal to Castelli.

I found the one!!!

I just started cycling about a couple of month ago about 2 to 3 hours. I've tried Pearl Izumi symphony (good fit) and Louis Garneau Zone 3K (didn't like the fit) shorts and there wasn't enough padding. I finally found shorts Castelli Vizio that are very comfortable and the padding is perfect. I would spend the money on these shorts.

Comfortable Shorts

I wore these shorts for my first century ride and was comfortable throughout the day. I had a minor crash at mile 25 that ripped part of the short (but better the short than my skin) but it looks like it can be fixed. Highly recommended, especially for long days in the saddle.
