Description

Get classy.

The Castelli Vittore Gianni Wool Long Sleeve Jersey is steeped in history. Named for the Milanese tailor that founded Castelli from his storefront in 1876, the Vittore Gianni embodies the heritage of Castelli. The Vittore Gianni jersey will blend in like camouflage at  L'Eroica, but is just as suited for your club's weekend century ride this winter.

The Castelli Vittore Gianni Wool Long Sleeve Jersey is made from 100% Merino wool. Merino had long been the fabric of choice throughout the Golden Age of cycling, and we think that if Castelli's Merino jerseys were good enough for Fausto Coppi, they're good enough for us. Renowned for its heat retention and high wicking abilities, Merino is as functional as it is beautiful. Aside from its contribution to the seemingly unchanged aesthetic of the Vittore Gianni jersey, Merino is also naturally odor-resistant and easy to care for.
For some, bringing the past to the present would be a challenge, but with the addition of a quarter-length zipper and a contemporary fit, Castelli has managed to modernize the wool jersey without losing sight of its heritage.

The Castelli Vittore Gianni Wool Long Sleeve Jersey is available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large, and in the colors Black and Red.

Back to my roots. Love it.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

6' 186 lbs size 3X in Castelli. (Years of the iron.) I was pleasantly surprised to find the cut of this thing is athletic just like their other jerseys - accommodates my shoulders without being baggy on a 31" waist. The pockets are perfectly designed - just right for a larger hand and slightly constricted at the top with elastic. The partial zip simplifies things and the wool quality is good but not great - about like thicker Smart Wool stuff. (ArcTeryx being the cashmere standard.) I am also pleased to report you can dry this thing with your jeans until it's toasty; just a touch of shrinkage the first time and none thereafter. Perfect for cool days and at 70 degrees in the sun it's not oppressive. Excellent.

is this an itchy jersey? or itch fee like Rapha??

Best Answer Responded on

Bill, I just purchased this (the Vittore Gianni wool jersey) and have not experienced any itch associated with regular wool or wool blends. Although I don't own any Ralpha, this is made from Merino wool of the highest quality. It does run a bit small as do most Castelli products.
