Good but could be better
My first pair of bibs and first Castelli bottoms. 155lbs, 6'1" bought the Mediums and they fit perfect. Longest time in the saddle with them so far is 1.5 hrs. Chamois looks a little on the thin side, but did the job well. Hight of bibs in the front works well even with a short euro jersey. My biggest qualm with these is that some seams are flat-locked and some aren't. One particularly bothersome seem runs right up the back. Overall great buy for less than $60.
My First Bib
Been MTB only until recently and decided it was time to get a bib. These were my first set and on my first ride they were amazing. So comfy and the chamois worked very well with my basically piece of metal seat. Granted it was only a little under 20 mile ride they felt amazing. I highly recommend.
Great bibs for a great price. I bought an XL after reading the other reviews and they fit perfect. i am 6' 175lbs and size L in Pearl Izumi. Extra star for great price.
good not great
Had these for a while now. Okay, but wish they were snugger and the legs were more compressive. I'm 5'11" 150 lbs and got a medium but the legs ride up a bit and they are a bit "looser" fitting than I like. Still, very comfortable chamois and otherwise okay. Material is very thin, which is good for warm weather riding.
Euro sizing so order a size up, otherwise no issues. These and the Garneau 3Ds are my favorites. There's a decal on the mid-back of these (flag) that I guess is sewn inside and pokes me in the back. I just clipped the threads and pulled it off. 6', 195, 33" waist and the XL fits me great.
Very good and comfortable bib short
Had these for just a few rides so can't comment on durability, but they are very comfortable. The material is very thin and i wish a bit more snug. I'm 5'11", 150 lbs and ordered the mediums. The legs ride up a bit on me, which i don't like. Chamois is comfortable...not dense like some. I think these will be one of my go to shorts in the summer heat. Would be five stars but for the leg issue.
Best I've owned
These bibs fit like a glove and disipate heat - something very noticable in Arizona.
Better and cheaper than Endurance
I have actually found these to be more comfortable than the Endurance shorts - the padding is much less bulky than the Endurance yet still very comfortable and that's after 2500 miles this summer.
These were the first bibshorts I bought, finally upgrading from my Pearl Izumi shorts. One month and a thousand miles later, I'm still loving them. The only quirk of these is that in the White/Black version, you tan slightly through the material, so the Castelli logo puts a small pale circle on your thigh.
If you've never tried bibshorts, you should, and if Castelli's stuff fits you, give these a shot.
I just got these 3 weeks ago and after a hundred miles or so, i think its safe to say that i love this product!
They're light, breathe-able, and just plain comfy!
I have never been let down by Castelli gear which is why I always prefer it.
The leg gripper is also a great step up from the typical silicone grippers!
Castelli Velocissimo bibshort
Looks great, loose chamois
I've never been disappointed with Castelli gear which is why I always buy Castelli. I recently bought the red/white/black in these bibs and was extremely satisfied at first. Although after about 200 miles of riding and washes in the machine I was disappointed to find that the chamois became loose in the front (crotch) area causing the chamois to fold back onto itself inside the stitched area. Needless to say when riding it will begin to shift requiring readjustment to protect the important parts from saddle soreness. I also have the black/white in this same style with no problems after 1 year.
1st Bib Short
These are my first bib shorts and I love them. It's exactly what I was wanting, and the fit is very nice. Good compression, and easy to put on.
bit tight but still amazing
i love these bibs! i've only had them a couple of weeks but find them to be very comfortable, they're a bit tight compared to my capo but they are supportive and durable. if you have big quads i would recommend you upsize, also the sizeing seems to run very similar from large to extra large.
This is my second pair of bibs, first pair of bib shorts. My other bibs are knickers. Both of them Castelli. I must say bibs are infinitely more comfortable around the waist but I've noticed minor uncomfortable rubbing between the upper portion of the bibs and my Heart Rate strap.
Overall the fit is great for me at 6 feet, 165-170 pounds.
the design is great.
the construction on these is terrible. i recommend buying them if you like having your crotch seam stitching start to come undone while on a group ride. you'll make new friends.
Have had a pair of these for a year and they are among my favorite! Good fit, soft and comfortable, and great for the long rides.
Great bib shorts
For the money, these are great shorts and I'll tell you why- I took a pretty serious fall last summer. I slammed down on my right side and torn everything up- except the shorts. I tore my skin up UNDER the shorts but not the shorts themselves. Now that's amazing amazing material. Very impressive.
1st time bib buyer
1st time bib buyer. Like these a lot have been using them for 50+ mile bike rides and have little if no discomfort. Only concern is the material is very thin so you need to becareful not to tear or snag them.
Maybe you are like me: long time rider, lots of years in the saddle, but never a huge investor in clothing. For me a good deal on bib-shorts was half this price. So I splurged... and very glad I did. The support around my thighs is great without constricting. Being new to this price-point, I'm not used to this quality of construction and fit. The seams come together in a way that makes these uncomfortable to wear standing but amazingly comfortable riding. The chamois was comfortable first ride out, no stiffness or uncomfortable edges. I do take good care of my bike stuff, washing in cold they are holding up just fine. If you are accustomed to cycling on a budget, get these, you will feel like a pro...
