Description

With the temperatures dropping, and the holiday weight belt stacking, you might be feeling less and less motivated to ride. However, this is only the temperature playing games with your evolving brain. When winter tells you to put on pounds and stay in the back of a warm cave, and Castelli says suit up in the Velocissimo Bib Tights and hit the road, you have to decide -- who are you going to listen to? We prefer having fun and playing with our friends outside. We think that you do, too.

The Castelli Velocissimo Bib Tights are made from Castelli's popular Thermoflex fabric. Thermoflex gives you the benefit of having a lightweight, stretchy bib tight that warms like a light jacket on your legs and fits like you're off to the races. Thermoflex also features a fleecy inner lining that traps a layer of warm air on your skin while it wicks away moisture to the quick-drying Velocissimo surface. This process provides a consistent warmth and dryness that you'll appreciate when it's in the 40s. The Velocissimo has added extra comfort by incorporating breathable mesh bib straps and the Kiss 3 pad. The Kiss chamois uses a seamless construction of brushed microfiber to avoid any chaffing, and the pad is anatomically shaped to help follow your movements. The Kiss 3 also features a variable density design with more padding where you need it and less where you don't. For a secure fit, Castelli also included the single-layered Giro3 ankle grippers and the reflective camlock ankle zippers.

The Castelli Velocissimo Bib Tights are available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large, and in the colors Black/white, Black/white/red, and Black/yellow fluorescent/anthracite.

My only wish is a zipper

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I am 6ft. tall, 36 inches waist 85 kg in weight. XL fits very nicely and boulsters the my thighs during the Spring ride. This bib tights is very comfortable and covers my belly well and I would recommend this highly.

I am 6 ft tall, 110cm chest, 36 inces waist and 86kg. XL is the size for me?

You are kinda in-between sizes and might be pushing the limits on this race fit bib. XXL might be more your size.

Excellent cool weather bib tights

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These bib tights allow me to ride well into the chillies. I've ridden down to the low 40s. Much colder will be too much, but that low is fine.

I initially purchased size L, since I wear that size Castelli bib shorts. Silly me. I've returned the L for XL, which are just the thing. I'm 6'1", 185lbs, with a perfect desk jockey physique.

The usual Castelli quality is very evident. Chamois makes your saddle disappear, forces you to focus on how grand it is to be riding in the fall or spring! No bunching or tugging, and what needs to be kept warm is, what needs to be ventilated also is.

Turning into a regular Fred with this stuff, and really able to ride whenever I want, no longer kept inside by chilly weather.

Update: Finally reached my cold weather limit with these excellent bib tights: 35F. A bit chilly on my thighs and knees. 40F is fine, 35F is too cold to ride in these for me.

Castelli makes a bib for even colder temps: Their "*Polare Due bibs. Castelli rates these for temps between 18-25 F!

I've added a pair of Sorpasso Wind tights, which I've found are good down to about 25F for me. The temp range for the Polare Due is well into icy roads territory for me, so I gave them a pass, but thanks!

Great Cold Weather Gear

I had to return a pair of LG full length bibs and I exchanged them for these. I'm 6'3" and these are long enough to keep my ankles warm. This bib is a quality product, and it keeps you warm well down into the low 40's. Be sure and check the size chart--most folks take a size bigger than they would for American made.

    Go ahead and invest..

I made the mistake of buying an "off" brand of cold weather cycling tights a month ago. About half of a mile into my first ride I was regretting it. Although I literally just received the tights and tried them on, I was amazed over how incredibly comfortable they are. The chamois is amazing and the overall fit was perfect. I've read a lot of reviews on tights, shorts, jersey's, you name it. Castelli is a quality product. The sizing is European so check the measurements on the Castelli website.

      Good warm comfortable Bib tights

These Bibs are very warm in temps of 40* and comfortable. The chamois is also very comfortable for longer rides. I'm 6'-3" 200 lbs, so XXL was a perfect fit. XL was a little too snug. The fit is very snug and feels good against the skin without any bunching. I would recommend this for cold weather in a dry climate for good pair of warm bib tights.

        Small sizing

These tights run very small. Order a size larger.

Yes. Most Castelli Bib shorts run smaller. For example I'm 5'8" 31-32" waist and 163 Lbs. Medium fights too snug, basically tight and could be uncompfortable so I opt ofr large in their bibs. Jerseys I can fit into their medium (39" chest).

          Good for a dry cold

These do exactly what they say, keep you warm. As long as it's dry they feel great. They're fleecy on the inside, so they're a bit like a nice pair of pajamas, but you go ride in them (by a second pair for sleeping). I live in the mountains and they work great in the 30-45 range, after that they get a little warm but are still wonderful. Not at all water resistant, but in the dry climes where it gets chilly, the southwest, they'll keep you going in base season. I'm 6'5" 155 and the large is a glove like fit and these actually run the entire length of my legs right down to my shoes, no more cold ankles!
