Technically classic.

Though it retains all of the Prologo 3's classically-inspired styling, Castelli's Prologo 4 Jersey represents a tick up on the tech scale. This bump, from three to four, comes courtesy of an improvement to the jersey's anti-moisture Stratus fabric. Stratus's 100% polyester inner layer pulls sweat away from the skin, transferring it to the thin, microfiber outer-layer. Once the moisture surfaces, Castelli's Prosecco treatment diffuses it over a larger surface area for thin concentration and rapid evaporation, all of which makes for a soft, breathable, and quick-drying jersey that feels light and airy on the skin.

The Prologo's simple (yet apparently elusive to many manufacturers) design is part technology and part tradition. The classic sponsor bar that the heroes of cycling's history wore across their chests is reimagined here in a more slender, laser-cut panel. The contrasting side panels and lower back are mesh for an additional touch of modern aesthetics and added breathability, which the full-length camlock zipper easily supplements in the high temperatures of summer.

Three standard rear pockets provide cargo space and a fourth, reflective zipper pocket all but guarantees you'll arrive home without losing your keys. Finally, the iconic red scorpion logo on the zipper pull deserves special mention, as it's indicative of the tiny details Castelli infuses in every jersey it makes.

  • Anti-moisture Stratus fabric (100% polyester inner layer, micro-fiber outer layer)
  • Prosecco treatment
  • Mesh side panels and lower back

This jersey has the understated look of a classic jersey from before the color explosion of the 90's. Every time I wear it--paired with all black shorts as per The Rules--I get numerous comments about how great the whole kit looks. And that's the key: as long as you don't want to be flashy this jersey will work for you. It has a racing fit, nice and tight but it doesn't make you look like you've squeezed into a sausage skin. Three basic pockets, a wide, durable full zip to make donning and doffing simple. It breathes, it shields you from the sun, it holds enough supplies to allow for day long rides. You really can't ask for much more. It's a great jersey for training and getting big miles in. It's also a great jersey for the unattached racer who doesn't want to look like that tool who shows up to the local B race or group ride in the Swiss Pro National Champion Jersey. And all for the price of a normal name-brand athletic shirt.

Great Jersey

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Size Bought: XL

I like the fit. You do have to check sizing. I am 5'10" at 180 and I have to buy an XL.

Runs small

With other brands I use L, I ordered L but it runs small, to me seems like is a jersey for kids

Lime green and not bright yellow

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium

Most of my clothes are Castelli and I like the brand. I expected this to be bright yellow, but it's close to lime green. Not at all hi-viz or even bright.

Runs way small

I wear a medium in every cycling jersey except Castelli. Website said order one size up but the large was still too small. Ended up with an XL. Wow. Once I got the correct size I was not disappointed! The quality is there as usual with Castelli wear. Looks great and the XL fits like a medium, haha. Still quite happy with it.

Great jersey

Jersey fits and looks great. Simple without any frills. I ordered a large up from my normal medium and am glad I did.

far to small sizes not accurate

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 3XL

again for Castelli, what a bad advertising 3Xl it's not even large?
sizes should be accurate and you should tell your customers about taking 6 sizes above your normal sizes? can't weir it at all can't even put my arm in it , usually 3XL it's loosen and feet perfectly/
common guys these product are very expensive I would need to send it back and get a refund please or send me a real 3XL?

So close, but one serious deal breaker.

This jersey is almost awesome. The fit is great, the materials are nice and the construction seems to be high quality. I really liked the simple, tasteful design and the "drive blue" color.

But for reasons that I can't possibly understand, Castelli decided to make the chest logo stripe a transfer instead of sublimated graphics. As soon as I tried it on, it felt like someone had put a strip of duct tape across my chest. This entire strip doesn't stretch at all, and just looks and feels terrible. Also, for a jersey designed to be a breathable summer weight piece, why put a completely unbreathable barrier across the front? I'm sure with further wear this transfer would begin to crack and look even worse.

Bad move, Castelli. Fail. Giving three stars for the overall quality, but honestly I'm tempted to go with one.

Note - "true to size" in this case does mean race fit, which is what I was looking for. If the chest was allowed to stretch even a little bit, it would have been perfect. So disappointing.

If you read the many many reviews of this jersey, you see it is universally loved, and this complaint about the strip is unique. Just saying . . . . (customer)

Reviews are subjective, aren't they? I posted my impressions. If other people love this jersey, great. More for them!
