Description

Two-for-one.

Pazzo means 'crazy' in Italian, perhaps a fitting adjective for someone looking for a garment that can provide true 3-season versatility. Too often jackets with removable sleeves are developed as jackets, with the vest just an afterthought. That's not the case with the Castelli Pazzo Jacket. It's equally great as a vest or as a jacket, and it will quickly become a favorite addition to your wardrobe because of this versatility.

The Pazzo Jacket features Castelli's new SG0.6 Wind fabric with a light brushing on the inside surface for better insulation and a membrane on the outside for enhanced performance in wet weather. Castelli Castelli Pazzo Jacket DetailBut rather than just use one layer of SG0.6 fabric, Castelli uses two. Why? Two layers of fabric enables Castelli to sandwich a windproof membrane in between to trap air in the fibers, thus providing excellent insulation. It does this without sacrificing the potential for moisture movement out of the jacket to help you stay warm and dry. Sounds crazy, right? Well, it works.

The Pazzo comes with a full camlock zipper that stays flat when the zipper head is down. Three rear pockets are spacious enough to hold spare tubes, gloves, and food, while two rear reflective tabs offer increased visibility in low light conditions.

The Castelli Pazzo Jacket is available in three color combinations -- Black, Red/white, and White/black. It comes in six Castelli-specific sizes from Small through XXX-Large. Like most Castelli clothing, the Pazzo is designed to be form-fitting as the technical fabrics used to construct the jacket work best when in close contact with your body. Be sure to check the sizing chart to ensure proper fit.

  • SG0.6 Wind fabric features a light brushing of the inside surface for next-to-skin comfort
  • Breathable heavy weight back and side panels provide warmth
  • Reflective elements provide low-light safety
  • Removable sleeves add 3-season versatility

Nice Jacket as usual per Castelli!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have the Mortirolo in XL which is great but wear the Pazzo in L
This one seems to run a bit larger / i am 6'1" around 170 and the Large is perfect fit and yes, i can wear with layers...nice tight fit without being restrictive....thumbs up

Great versatile jacket!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just received by new jacket. It's been a cold brutal spring here in Canada and with with layering with my sfida jersey I cannot believe how warm I stay! Awesome versatile jacket and well made.

Buy this now -while you still can!

Application: For use in cool/cold, dry weather. Highly versatile vest/jacket combo. Medium weight, soft shell fabric. Slightly lighter in weight vs. Castelli's awesome/classic Mortirolo jacket, BUT this jacket has removable sleeves.

Here's one of the best ways to use it...

Great for starting off on cold, long Saturday or Sunday morning rides that start at 45-55* and then warm up over the next couple of hours. Starts as a jacket, then presto, turns into a vest as the morning warms up (store the sleeves in the rear pockets, and your leg warmers!).

If you like this jacket, buy it now! End of model year sale!

Sizing: Very typical Castelli jacket sizing. Size up +1. I'm 5'10 and 180. The XL fit perfect.

Other fit consideration: This jacket is styled short in the front on purpose. This is the best fit for the forward/incline riding position on a road bike.

Great 2-in-1 Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a nice jacket for those who wouldn't want to buy a separate vest. The shape of the jacket is a bit strange around shoulders, but for what it is, it works well. It's really nice to be able to wear through fall and winter. When the weather hits mid 30F, I wear a long jersey underneath and it typically keeps me warm. When it's high 40F, I wear a long jersey and this as a vest.

I am 6' and 160lb. I got a large but this runs slightly larger than typical Castelli items I have. I could have gotten a medium and be fine.

Not bad

I've used this jacket a handful of time this past fall in temps ranging from 35-50 degrees F. The zipp off sleeves are a nice feature, however wind does seep through the overlapping layers. It is fairly wind resistant, but it is not at the level of a Windstopper garment. As for warmth, I tend to layer, so I can't say how this would feel with just a baselayer on. I bought an XL as I am 6 ft. 1 in. and 180 pounds. A large would fit a bit better and bee more aero, but the little extra room allows for the layers.
