Description

Time of the seasons

In Castelli's native tongue, the word 'pazza' means crazy. And if you're looking for one jacket to ride in from fall straight through to spring, this word would ordinarily be a fitting description for you. That is until Castelli introduced the Pazza Wind Women's Jacket. With removable sleeves, warming fabrics, and a windproof front, the Pazza provides the needed reflexes to jump from season to season.

Castelli's Pazza Wind Women's Jacket was created to be the most versatile piece in the Castelli line. Touted as the ideal three-season jacket, Castelli fulfilled this objective through the implementation of an anatomic design, construction wizardry, and a sophisticated blend of tried-and-true fabrics. Not surprisingly, most cold can be thwarted by simply blocking out the windchill. Knowing this, Castelli constructed the front and sleeves of the jacket from the windproof SgO.6 material. Now, with the wind sliding off, your core temperature can be exploited to freely warm the insulation layer between the jacket and your skin. But, to make sure that you don't overheat, the back of the Pazza uses Castelli's Warmer fabric for its high breathability and moisture management characteristics. The combination of fabrics assures a warm ride, free from skin-chilling sweat.

And while the combination of fabrics makes the jacket highly adaptable to inclement weather conditions, it's the Pazza's removable sleeves that make it shoulder season friendly. That's right, the Pazza is easily converted into a vest. When the temperature rises during your ride, simply zip off the sleeves for maximum ventilation. Even better, unlike most convertible jackets where the vest is treated as a gimmick, Castelli designed the Pazza to fit and operate equally well in both forms. Perfect jacket, perfect vest.

To house all of your ride essentials, Castelli included three rear storage pockets. The Pazza also includes a full-length camlock front zipper and reflective accents throughout the jacket to increase your visibility in low-light conditions.

The Castelli Pazza Wind Women's Jacket is available in five sizes from X-Small to X-Large and in the colors Black, Cherry, and White.

I noticed the size chart for this was...

I noticed the size chart for this was different than the other Castelli jackets. Does this one run bigger. I normally wear a small which usually is a 33 inch in chest. That looks like an XS in this, unless the chart above is not actually the right one for this jacket

Hi Rachel,

I have to admit that I haven't worn this jacket myself, but the sizing should be consistent with their other women's' jackets. The Castelli sizing tends to be smaller than most (for example, Hincapie, Louis Garneau, Pearl Izumi,). but if you've worn a size small in other Castelli items, that is my recommendation. Although it's great to get the size right the first go around, we've go a great return policy should we need to go with another size.

Size chart (now, anyway) does indicate a 'S' for a size 33" chest. You can also always 'double check' size charts by going right to the brand site you're interested in...then purchase here!

Love the material and the perfect fitting and length on the arm. I gave this as a gift and the Gal was way pump on the color and the pockets on the back!!

Versatile and comfy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love this convertable jacket. As a jacket or vest, it works perfectly on cooler days (40-60F) with a jersey or tank underneath and on warmer (80-100+F) days with just a sports bra. It wicks sweat away nicely and doesn't make you overheat. My only issue is the zippers for the arms. The detachable arms are not designed for easy on/off like those spandex half sleeve thingys. It's not easy to zip them off while riding. You'll have to wait until the next rest stop to do that, but it's not a big deal. The sleeves roll up neatly and fit into your back pocket. Otherwise, the piece is worth the price (even better if you can get it on sale or use a coupon) since it's like getting two pieces in one and it's all weather!! I wish I had gotten this when I first started cycling to avoid having to buy multiple tops.

Perfect Jacket for temps in the 40's

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I had an opportunity to use this jacket a LOT over the last few days. Thanksgiving day the high temp was 46 degrees. I also had on the Castelli long bib and a light base layer. It was perfect. I have a heavier cycling jacket I am going to return. This one does the job for all of them. I am very happy with the this purchase. The sleeves are a bit long, but I just rolled them up a bit. Otherwise, the fit is fabulous. And it washed up beautifully (hung to dry). If you're looking for just one jacket - this is it!

Pazza

People tell me all the time I must be crazy to be out cycling in this 30 degree weather.
I smile and say it's all about the gear.
THIS IS THE GEAR!
Took it out for a 40 mile ride and came home snug as a bug. Nose was cold.
Super soft inside & comfortable to wear. Love the way the vest is designed. Most vests are loose and flop around a bit.
Not this one, fitted like a jersey, looks fantastic.
