Just Lycra, no insulation -perfect for 60+ degree days. (Same goes for the knee) warmer. Just a light layer of insulation. The arm grippers are sticky as well.
do you have to buy each arm / leg warmer...
do you have to buy each arm / leg warmer separately?
Hi Bob - they are sold either as a pair of arm warmers or a pair of leg or knee warmers.
I have owned these for almost a year. I originally bought them for summer protection, but I wore them most of the winter too and down to temps in the low 50's and they are great. I have since purchased the fleece lined castelli arm warmer and I still prefer these. I wear L jersey and got the L size and they are perfect.
Arm protection from the Sun
The white arm sleeves are just right to keep the sun from burning your arms mid-day. They are not noticeably warm on a hot day, yet do provide some warmth on a cool day. Also good for around town motorbike use, and other packable layering applications.
At first the medium size seemed too tight on the upper arm, but after a few rides they are a good fit and don't slip.
Great basic warmers for cool temps
These warmers are very basic and are designed only to take the edge off of cool temps in the 50s. Since this is what I got them for, they are perfect. Very snug and not too hot.
Good fit but too thin--useless
These fit great--I'm 6'2", if that helps--but they're so thin and lacking any insulation that they're basically useless. Seriously, they don't really provide any warmth against the cool air. Better off using nothing.
Castelli Lycra Arm Warmer (white)
Perfect for chilly mornings in the late Spring or even to avoid sun in the Summer. I prefer lycra with no fleece insulation. Works very well and stays on arm throughout ride.
