The Garmin-Cervelo professional cycling team's favorite glove for cool conditions, Castelli Lightness Gloves are designed to be soft, stretchy, and warm.
Castelli's Lightness gloves are a happy marriage of two materials: Thermoflex and Clarino. Thermoflex is made with a nylon/lycra blend that's brushed on the inside to provide stretch and warmth, while the outside has a silicone finish to offer light water repellency. By using Clarino (a fabric made of extra-fine micro-fiber) for the palms, Castelli increased the touch and durability of the Lightness. You'll get gloves that offer ideal cool-weather protection while offering enhanced aerodynamics and an intimate feel for the handlebars. What more could you want?
The Castelli Lightness Gloves come in Black and are offered in six sizes from X-Small through XX-Large.

I was surprised how well this minimalist glove kept my hands warm into the low 40's. They look great, fit is perfect and they feel great on the bars. They are rather hard to remove after a long ride when they are damp from sweat, I can see how others have had problems with the stitching and have been cautious when removing. It's hard to get excited about gloves but this is my favorite in this temperature range, will probably pick up an extra pair or two at the current low price!
These are my favorite for 50 degree rides. Perfect for the minimalist like me who only wear gloves when it gets chilly. Not a durable glove (stitching failed after two seasons) but for $30 it's not a bad deal.
I love these gloves for the fit and sticky grip. But, since I have only worn them several times in the two years that I have owned them, they have spent much of their time in my gear closet waiting to be sewn back together at the seams just like a one yer old pair of Castelli knickers that I own. Like every Castelli product that I have purchased in the last two years, the stitching fails within the first couple of uses. Sadly, Castelli does not stand behind their products either and you are generally stuck with the product unless you purchased it from Competitive Cyclist.
Functionally, these are great just like my knickers. The fit is perfect, function is perfect and the material is very nice. Quality, it isn?t worth the money if you can only wear them a couple of times before the seams start to fail at the stitching. Spend your money on another product with better quality stitching.
Keeps my hands warms down to low 40s. When it was damp and the wind chill started to dip into the mid-30s, though, my finger tips started to chill. They are comfortable, though, and they breath pretty well, too. Over all, a good value with good construction.
Received these gloves expecting something good from Castelli. Turns out they were GREAT...!!!
FIt was a bit tight when putting them on (guess I have a rather large maw but my long fingers were wonderfully enveloped....*across the wristband - NO GIVE...!!!
Once on they OUT PERFORMED expectations. Good down to mid-20s with not additional liner...and FANTASTIC wind blockage. VERY MUCH like the PULL-TAB INTEGRATED INTO THE RE-ENFORCED PALM...VERY few worries about about ripping seams while pulling then on...!!!
I've used a wool glove INSIDE them to make them roasty-toasty and can see them warming me down to 0 F. The gloves form fit very nicely over the wool gloves [DeFeet wool gloves with accented palms and fingers...!!! -- Castelli makes a similar product - Unico Glove].
Clean up nicely and dry within an hour (if wrong out..!!!) +++ on water repellant - haven't actually immersed them into a tank, but imagine they would do rather well resisting seepage -- NOT WATER RESISTANT, but close
I have had them on chilly 10 degree mornings and during 16 to 18 degree days. I am amazed at how well they keep my finger tips from feeling chilly and and how well they breath. I experienced no sweating when the day became warmer. These gloves are a winner at a reasonable price. I have a hand span of 220cm and the XL fits perfectly.
Just got these gloves in the mail, they fit like a second skin. I run between a med/large depending on the brand and really don't like to take the glove off to reach into my jersey pocket,so moving to a Lg may have to much room in the fingers. They are a little snug getting on but the cuff stretches well. I suggest trying both sizes if unsure,Castelli do run smaller in all their cloths.
I am one of those riders who wear full gloves most of the year, as my hands are always cold. I bought these and a pair of Pearl Izumi's just before Thanksgiving and have been wearing the Pearls on most rides. I loved the appearance of these, but was unsure of the pad. I headed out for a New Years morning ride and decided to try the Casetelli's out. These are the most comfortable gloves I have ever worn! Thin and lightweight these gloves were perfect for a ride in the upper 50's. I cannot wait to see how they are when it gets bit cooler in the mornings. I would def. recommend going up one size, I wear a Medium glove in everything but bought Large and they fit PERFECTLY.
These gloves fit me perfectly in a large. No bunching, no loose fingers, just nice and snug. I like that the cuff comes up a little higher. Took them out on an early winter day: 38F, 10mph wind and my hands were pretty numb by the time I got back around sunset (32F, lt. wind). Probably a better glove for the 45-55F days like an earlier review mentioned.
excellent gloves, def have to size up. I usually wear a large and got the XL, fits perfectly. I wore these during a century, it was like 60ish degrees in the morning and my hands stayed comfortably warm. I wore them during a 45-50 degree day and your hands get cold at first but ended up warming up. I'm not sure about 30 below days though. Decent price and quality for $30 gloves.
Hey guys this gloves are very good I really like them I have use them a couple of times and I really enjoy them. They fit very good (At least in my hands) and the price is excellent. If you need a glove between seasons light enough with full finger cover but not so warm that make you hands sweat these are the right ones.
