Castelli Garmin Aero Race Jersey - Short-Sleeve - Men's $129.95
Are you as fast as your jersey?
If the one goal of the day is to go fast, then Castelli's Garmin Aero Race Jersey has you covered. It's Castellis' most aerodynamic jersey, and it uses three different fabrics for a sleek, watt-saving fit.
To begin with, Castelli constructed the front and shoulders of the jersey with Velocity fabric. Velocity is a highly elastic fabric, with a smooth face, that is able to rebound into its original shape wear after wear. It is lightly compressive, and while it won't give you a medical grade of compression, this quality allows it to hug your body for minimal wind resistance. The Velocity fabric has been given a Prosecco hydrophilic treatment which speeds up evaporation by spreading moisture over a larger surface of the jersey. This helps you to stay dry in the heat of the race. Aiding in the aerodynamic fit of the jersey is Nervato fabric which has been placed at the arm holes. This highly flexible fabric ensures that bunching is minimized so that the wind has a smooth boundary layer to flow over. Finally, the back and side panels were sewn from open mesh fabric for breathability.
The fit of the Aero Race jersey is very form fit. In fact, wind tunnel testing shows that it saves about 12 watts at 40km/h as compared with a regular jersey. To this end, we recommend ordering up one size from your regular Castelli size. It was cut to conform to your body while in riding position, and it will fit well in that position, not when you are sitting at the coffee shop. The deep scoop-neck minimizes drag in the front and a full length camlock zipper is adjustable for added ventilation when the race slows a bit. Silicone gripper elastic at the waist and Giro3 elastic at the armholes keep the jersey in place. Three rear pockets, held tightly to you back, hold your race essentials. The Garmin Aero Race Jersey - Short Sleeve - Men's is available in sizes Medium through XX-Large and in the color Azure/black/red.
