Castelli Fusione Jacket - Men's $0.00
Bust out the door no matter the weather.
Bust out of the house confident you’ll be able to regulate your core temp the whole ride with the Castelli Fusion Jacket. Thanks to WindStopper Helium fabric, the Fusione blocks wind and water while remaining light and packable enough to stow in a jersey pocket. Zipper chest vents team up with two large zipped rear vents to ditch excess heat when crushing climbs or dropping Freds in a sprint.
- Silicone gripper waistband fights dreaded jacket ride-up
- 360-degree reflective piping gives motorist a heads up
- Thermoflex collar flips up to seal out the cold
Note: Castelli has a "Euro" slimmer fit. We suggest ordering at least one size larger than your normal US size.
- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Natural Waist:
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
What community has to say
6ft, 180, XL is perfect. Some haters don't like the zips, but I think the zips make this coat. It is so versatile because of them. Chest zips- normal, but nice to vent and clearly add to the whole. Back zips-not so normal, and they're what make this coat. Yes, the back zips are a bit cumbersome to adjust at speed. But to have the option of 2 neaerly 18 inch vents on your back to scrub heat . . . It allows you to dress less, cause you can vent more. Brilliant! Best for riders who generate more body heat, as it may well eliminate an entire layer. I've also got the vest, and I've used the back zips to access jersey pockets underneath. The only complaint is the fact that there are no pockets. Makes you consider what's underneath more carefully. It's also windtex throughout. Nice one, this. As to washing, I've not had any bleed issues whatever. Wash in delicate with delicate detergent (I use Ecover), then hang to dry. Voila. Made in China.
On the sizing, I am 5'10 160 and depending on the fit wear medium or large in Castelli. I went with a large and wish it fit a little tighter, however I think a medium would have been to short in the torso.
On the performance of the jacket, I have had good experiences both in dry and wet weather. The vents in the back and front are nice as it helps with airflow and too me it isn't all that noisy. Typically I wear this jacket when its 40 degrees or colder, since it has no stow pockets I pair it with a jersey and the Castelli Airco baselayer, plenty warm for me. Only dislike were the zipper cords for the back vents - tough to use while riding, but thats a minor problem to me since I don't race, its easy to stop to zip them up or down.
6 foot 3 inches 175 lbs, will an XXL fit
6 foot 3 inches 175 lbs, will an XXL fit
being tall an XL or XXL may fit you height better.
I've only had the jacket for a week, but thus far it is outstanding. I can wear it over a s/s jersey in 45F weather and stay warm due to the windstopper. Becuase of the excellent vents (front and back), I can keep the jacket on when the weather warms up (to about 65F).
I can't speak to its ability to keep you dry, as i have not worn it in the rain. The zippers in the back (for vents) could be a leak source, but I did not buy this jacket to be a completely waterproof option.
The fit is excellent (i like my cycling clothes tight), and I did NOT find it too loud, even at 40mph.
My only complaint, thus far, is with that the zippers in the back that allow access to shirt pockets. It is not easy to get into the pockets through the zippered slot.
Don't wash it
I bought this a while back, saving it for the cold season. Wore it once, decided to wash it. The black dye seeped into the white fabric and ruined the jacket.
I asked realcyclist to exchange for a black one. We'll see if they blow me off since I'm outside the 30 days window. I've spent a fair bit of money here and I'd like to see someone step up on this. Let's hope.
Fit is a bit short, if the XXL was 2 inches longer this would be an amazing buy. Buy it in black though.
not my bag
This jacket in theory has some cool stuff going for it, but once it came in the mail and I tried it on, it was right back on the UPS truck. First, the zipper vents in the back. Two parallel 10 inch zippers run down the back for venting, and they have these long rip cords attached to the zipper pulls for...I guess easy operation? Gimmicky. Plus a lot going on and a lot to flap in the breeze when the pace picks up. Construction was NOT on par with any of the other big brands (Gore Bike Wear etc) and the fit seemed strange. I'm 6' and 175lbs and the large was tight in the pits but poofy around the shoulders and midsection. The windbreaker material was too noisy to be tolerated - this jacket would have to be tailored and tight to be remotely acceptable at speed. Even if you found the perfect fit, this jacket has enough issues to keep you shopping elsewhere. The rear venting zippers add bulk and make it suspect in the rain, so in the end I decided on a jacket that breathed well and was lightweight enough to just take off and stuff if I really overheated.

Is it fair to say that this is a decent, lightweight winter jacket that can be worn down to 32 with a baselayer and a jersey?
I've been layering the airco base layer and the trasparente jacket under thse fusione and I have been surprised at the relative warmth/wind protection this allows at temps in the mid to lower 20s.

If I am 6' 1", 175 lb with a 38.5 chest measurement, should i stick with castelli's sizing and get a medium or size up to the large??
Go with the Large
You are right on the Border and a little extra size will let you layer under the shell
I'm 6'1" and 42" at the chest but I exchanged a large for an extra large in favor of longer torso length. I'm very pleased that I did.
