Sizing Info...

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Always tough to find the right size, since I'm usually in between M / L from most manufacturers. For what it's worth, I'm 5'10" and 160#, and I had big thighs _before_ I started biking. I tried these in M, and while I probably could have kept them, they just felt a little too spray-painted on. I'm not shy, but I'm not the skinsuit type either. Sending 'em back and going to try the L next, will update if it's the right size for me... 4 start rating is based on the look, feel and apparent workmanship, will update if the L fits and after I get a couple hundred miles in them.

Great Bib shorts!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These fit snug and very comfortably. You will have a happy crouch at the end of the day with the Progetto X2 chamois, it is great. Straps are comfortable and good length, shorts are nice and compressive. I am 5'11" 168lbs 31-32" waist and the large fits perfectly.

hello My height is 186cm weight 85kg and 34 waist What size do you wear?

Responded on

All of Castelli's apparel is euro fit, so they run very tight and a bit small. For your size and height I would recommend getting size XL in this bib. ddalton@backcountry.com

Best Bib so far

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Wish I would have bought two when they were on sale. Great product. I own four Castelli bibs but these are the best by far. The Progetto X2 chamois is wonderful. The fit of these bibs are great. The leg length is longer than most and I like that. The straps are comfortable and in the saddle for three plus hours and they are great. I purchased some Assos bibs for $368.00 and they do not compare. I'm 5'8.5" and 153 pounds with a 32.5 in waste and the large is spot on. Put them on sale again and I'm all over another pair :)

Love them

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I own 3 pairs. They are so comfortable without adding much bulk. Even after 100miles ride, these never bother me.

I am 5'11" and 160lb and wear a large like all the Castelli items I own.

great looks, race ready

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shorts have a tight compressive fit, sheer fabric, very comfortable especially when it is hot, the chamois is thin so works great when you are pounding hard, but less comfortable on longer rides 80+. Love the looks and get lots of positive comments. Bibs straps and scoop of front fit well due the the highly flexible fit.

Best shorts ever

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I bought my first Castelli shorts in May and now I have 3 of these. The chamois is the most comfortable ever, the suspenders are really stretchy and don't chafe, and the hem is ultra grippy. When I go out on a long ride, these are what I look for in the drawer. They cost more, but in my opinion, are totally worth it for the additional comfort and quality.

Note, I had to order 1 size larger than most of the other brands I have worn.

Unanswered Question

Will these come in in Black anytime soon?...

Will these come in in Black anytime soon? (As shown in some of the pics)

I already have these bibs in black, and they are GREAT. Top quality. However, personally I don't like the appearance of the blue/cyan one so I'd rather get another black one or two.

Top draw bibs

After a bit of research I decided to buck the Assos trend here in South Africa and try something different. If you look about these shorts have toped the buyers polls in most magazines where they've featured and now owning a pair I can see why.

Love the material and support. No leg grippers, just very well engineered panels, great 'floating' chamois, decent bibs and the extra features make for a very good short that will stay with you all day.

Couple of 100km+ rides so far, really comfy and cool. Yup they are colourful but they do look good on and match my blue / white Giant TCR - tho that wasn't what made me buy them. ;)

ne of the best things about thee shorts is the 2 part chamois. Was a little sus' about it at first but works well and doesn't give you that 'nappy' feel that you can get from the bulk of the Assos kind.

I'm 5'9" with a 33 / 34 waist and the Large is a nice compressed fit.

Other shorts: Assos, Descente & Giordana.

You will be happy!

I have bought few $100 bibs. I would trade them all for another new pair of these. Out of the box and 150 miles MS Tour the next two days. The new chamois is really nice and I have had better success with chamois' that are covered with softer material, as in these. The comfort is great. The look is great. The material gives good support on long rides. Training or racing, you will be happy!
