- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Natural Waist:
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
- Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
- Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
What community has to say
My favorite pair of regular shorts
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I tend to like bibs, but this is the only hold over pair of shorts I kept from my earlier riding days. LOVE THEM. The fit, the technology of the panels is all outstanding. My next pair of bibs will be this line. You can pay more, but you likely won't due better. Like them better than my body paint bibs.
my castelli free aero shorts were torn in...
my castelli free aero shorts were torn in the crouch area when caught on my saddle while trying to stand. Any suggestions on how to get this stitched? with this being in the chamois area, there seems to be know way to stitch this without removing the chamois, and i know there is know seamstress able to stitch the chamois back into the shorts like castelli does from the factory. these shorts have been worn maybe 5 times. FYI, best cycling shorts ever, hands down. i will be ordering a second pair from you all shortly.
I have the same problem with Sanremo Speed Suit. :( It is sitting there brand new almost, but cant wear. :(
Don't waste your money
I bought these shorts hoping to help with the saddle pain....no such luck. I usually ride 20 mile intervals and these shorts where only slightly better. I still had a sore bottom after one hour of riding and found myself having to switch positions on the saddle to combat the numbness.
Comfort of these shorts wasn't there, legs are too tight and I don't have large legs.
I have been wearing cycling shorts for 10 years and have a good base for comparison having owned so many different brands. These shorts were only slightly better than $50 shorts.
Very disappointing purchase, save your money and try a different brand.
One star because these shorts are very uncomfortable, regardless of price.
Great short- not durable
I would give these shorts 5 stars if they held up. I've sent two pairs back because of the stitching coming loose in the pad. Both pairs unraveled where the front pad joins the rear pad (crotch). When they are not unraveling they are the most comfortable shorts I've owned. I love them so much that I ordered a third pair, I just hope they hold up.
Not Free but very Aero!!
At 5'6" and only 114lbs, I took a chance and ordered my usual Pearl Izumi size,SM. Though fit and competitive I have always been very slender and even my best shorts look kind of, well, er - LOOSE. But when my order arrived (very prompt) I was surprised by the very nice but TINY look of the shorts - like something for a 10 year old junior racer! I tried them on and they were VERY snug but fit like a fine glove...here's what I like after several rides in the Durango CO area - when I am in the riding position they are a perfect natural fit; no tight spots or bunching where you might expect. The Progetto X2 chamois is very comfortable, made of different densities and extends unusually far foreward - perfect for riding in the drops or descending. These shorts are very well made and the design very well thought out - and for me more comfortable than bibs. Probably not for everybody and Not Free(cheap) but very very Aero!!
My best shorts
I'm the only person I know that doesn't like bibs. And for shorts, these are as good as they get.looking fantastic and very comfortable on 4-5 hrs rides. I can even say I prefer it over my Assos shorts. If you have experience with castelli you would already know that you must size one up.
I have been riding Pearl Izumi shorts with the 4-d chamois. Tried these shorts for the 1st time. I liked the feel and comfort. Really need to put a drawstring in there. They ride down all the time.
