Description

Stay comfortable now, win races in the spring.

During the winter months, the lucky among us do far more miles in chilly, rather than downright frigid, conditions. Tights designed to keep you warm when temps dip down to freezing can sometimes be overkill, which is why the Castelli Fondo Bib Tights are a great all-purpose pair of tights. They're cut from Castelli's Thermoflex polyester, which provides some wind protection while offering excellent insulation thanks to the brushed fleece inside. Thermoflex is surprisingly lightweight and stretchy, making these tights unusually comfortable.

To help keep bulk to a minimum, the Fondo Bib Tights include Castelli's excellent KISS3 pad. Unlike most pads, the KISS3 pad features a continuously variable thickness, eliminating the odd sensation of thick here, thin there, that can come with a dual-density pad. It features an anatomic shape to improve how well the pad conforms to your body and ultimately increase your comfort. The brushed microfiber cover cuts down on chafing and features a bacteriostatic treatment to reduce the chance for saddle sores.

The bib straps are narrow and spaced wide to restrict breathing as little as possible. Reflective ankle zippers make these tights easy to put on and keep you visible when on the road.

The Castelli Fondo Bib Tights come in three colors -- Black/black, Black/red and Black/white, and they're available in six sizes from Small through XXX-Large.

Excellent warm bibs

These are great bibs. I had to give it four out of five stars though because I'm not a big fan of the chamois. It's not horrible, but I wish it was a little thicker. Other then that, these bibs perform! They have been very warm (not hot mind you) in temperatures down to 40 degrees. I haven't ridden in anything colder yet, but I think they would still hold up at least down to 35. My knees and tender bits never felt cold wearing these.

For sizing, I'm 6' 4" and 190lbs. I got the large. I was concerned too, since I always hear that you need to size up with castelli. I'm glad I didn't. The other 6'4" reviewer was right, I'm glad I listened to him! Large fits perfectly! I would actually say that these bibs are one of my better fitting bicycle clothes. The fleece lining is soft and feels good against your skin. The zippers on the legs work well and the straps are the perfect length and disappear on rides.

Overall these are really good quality bibs, just wish the chamois was a bit thicker.

Blown Away

This is a great fitting product for tall and skinny people. I'm 6'4" and I bought the Large. I was nervous as I don't really like tights, but these have completely erased my doubts. The fleece lining is great and soft on the skin, and is great for real cold days. Even my knees were warm. The chamois is also great, I worried it might be a little big or fold in odd ways, but it is super comfortable. If you ride in dry windy weather below 45 F these are for you.

I'm 6 foot and 160 pounds with 33 " inseam. I'm thinking Large. Any opinions?

I'm 6'0" and 160 with a 33" inseam and I have lots of Castelli stuff in medium and it's fine. I hate gear that's too big even by a little, though.

Nice tights, a little thin for padding

Bought these tights and I am pretty happy with them. Only problem is the cham is kinda thin and not enough for my bony butt. I wear my sugoi bike shorts underneath for extra padding.

pretty good overall

These are good looking and comfy bibs overall. The fleece inner layer feels really nice against the skin. My only disappointment with these is that I find that on the colder rides (talking below 30 degrees) my knees start to feel pretty cold. I wore a pair of knee warmers underneath the bibs the next day and the problem was solved.

Fit, comfort and style.

I am 5' 10" and 162 lbs the medium fits very well as the chart indicates for my size. My ride this past weekend was 49 degrees and 52 miles the comfort was execellent. Style is typical Castelli great!

I will purchase more of this bib in different colors. I own other Castelli bib shorts that have the same great fit, comfort and style.

I'm 5'8", about 29" inseam, 34" waist. ...

I'm 5'8", about 29" inseam, 34" waist. Wear medium Performance Sport bib shorts--fit well. Wear XL Castelli jerseys (L is a bit tight in shoulders, so sacrifice some looseness in torso--not a racer). Wondering what size shorts/tights I would be in Castelli, as I've never worn them before... Thought large. Bought some large Castelli knee warners--they slip a bit as I ride, but assume that is true of all warmers (these are my first pair)?

Thanks for any insight.

Go with Large, Castelli runs smaller.
