Great bibs. Shame about the decal logos.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These are very comfortable bibs, with nice grippers on the legs. The only downside is that the decal Castelli logos come off easily.
Good price , ok quality, tight fit

For the price these are fair to good bibs.
6'3 195 I found the inseam and groin cut too tight. It is a euro cut, so if you aren't a euro cut and look to ride 40+ miles I recommend trying another brand. For short rides it's manageable
Converting from commuter and mountain bike gear, this was my first bib and love it. I'm 6' 175' and have the Large. Originally felt i may have ordered a little small but now feel they are a perfect fit. Can't compare to the highest end bibs/chamois but can't imagine being more satisfied by comfort and quality. Will update if that changes after the next upgrade.
Great deal, good product, go for it..but 2x size up!!!
I am 5'10" ~170, about a 40" chest, 32" waist and went with an XL and it fits good. I normally wear a Medium in most other 'normal' bib sizes. Took it out for a 35 mile spin and had no issues at all. Very comfortable & breathable.
If I had to mention one downside, I'd say the north/south fit felt a little tighter than I'd prefer when standing (not sitting/riding). The width of the legs, waist and chest were fine, but the length from shoulder to crotch feels as if it were for someone a little shorter than me. Rides up a little, not too bad though.
Go up 2 sizes and you should be good to go!
Excellent for the money: euro fit--up two from American
These are excellent inexpensive Castelli shorts. I have a pair of the $220 Gavia bibs and a pair of the Velcosimas that were $180 and I think these are actually my favorite of the three. The chamois is great and has a little more front coverage than the Gavias. The fabric is excellent--stretchy without being thin--reminds me a little of the fabric on my Craft bibs which I love. The sizing is defintely Euro and is even smaller than the Gavias. I love the XL and I am 6', 175lbs, 32 inch waist, 42 inch chest, with a track specialists thighs and the thighs are just right, but they are definitely on the short side in the bibs--and I have a shorter than average torso. I love them when I am riding because they stay nicely up in the chamois area, but they are not the most comfortable when walking around (if you want bibs for hanging out at the coffee shop you probably shouldn't go with these, but if you want to wear bibs at the coffee you should probably just reconsider that choice altogether for the good name of all cyclists). I would say that when on sale at Real Cyclist these are the best deal you can get on bibs--they blow any other $50 bib out of the water and are better than my $150 Pearls and Descentes.
Good Shorts, sizing issues
Great bang for the buck. The Kiss 3 Chamois is pretty comfortable. The sizing is definitely way off as indicated in the other reviews. I wear a medium in US sizing and ended up needing an XL in this short. I am only 5'6'' and the straps are still a bit snug for my liking.
Great bibs, great price, sizing way off!
I really like these bibs. They work great for me for every day riding, road & mtn bike training. I am a big cyclists, 5'9", 175 lbs, with a 33" waist. Normally, I fit in between US medium & Large, so in bike shorts, I go for the meduims to get the tight/compression fit. Thanks to the other reviews here, I followed your advice and sized up "TWO" sizes on these bibs. The fit was great. For me, it was tight exactly where I needed it. Felt too tight when I put them on, standing up, but once I got in the saddle (which is what they are designed for) the fit was perfect. If you can get the fit dialed in, you cannot beat these bibs for the price. I am ordering another pair.
Not just small, they're tiny.
I sized up one size over what I'd usually wear, and they weren't even close. They were really tight, but the straps weren't even close to going over my shoulder.I gave them to my brother in law to try, and even though they were 2 sizes bigger than what he would normally wear, they were still a little too tight. That being said, the build quality looked good, and the pad looked like it would be of good quality.
two sizes to small
i were midium in most shorts large in others but these shorts large was to small sent back got xl. at 5-7 165lb should not be xl but they fit and are nice bibshorts for the price chamois works material nice
They ARE smaller than their size
I have several pairs of more expensive Castelli shorts, but the price on the Ergo Tre's on sale made them perfect foul weather shorts. Except that the small size in the Ergo Tre does not match the small size in Castelli's more expensive shorts. The more expensive models are snug on me (6'1" 140lbs) but they fit. I can't even get two legs into the Ergo Tre smalls at the same time. So I have returned the smalls and am awaiting some mediums. Curious, because the size difference between the Ergo Tres and the more expensive models is considerable.
Are all castelli bibs cut really low in...
Are all castelli bibs cut really low in the front? Are there some styles that are cut higher? The podium collection seems to be pretty low ... and the endurance shorts seem low in the front too. I'm looking for a pair of bibs for my weekly longer rides - 75 to 100mi. - any suggestions??? Thanks.
Get the bibs. Castelli shorts, great while riding, when you stand up, it looks like you've got a mid-drift jersey on. Go with the bibs if you'll be in public standing straight up at all.
First Hour in the Saddle
Today I took an afternoon ride to try out my new Castelli Ergo Tre Bib short with the KISS3 pad. First impressions were the fit was a little tight, but when I got on the bike everything fell into place. Pulling out of the drive the KISS3 Pad seemed a little harder than the Bontrigger Bibs I have been wearing but I thought what the heck, lets see what they fell like after an hour in the saddle. I must say, the added hardness or support, I guess depends on who you talk to was a welcome surprise! Honestly, my backside really had no complaints and felt like I could have ridden for hours more, of course the lightning and thunder fast approaching deterred that from happening, dang lost another good day of riding!
