Ride all day.

Designed for the long haul, the Castelli Men's Endurance X2 Bib Short keeps you cranking in cloud-nine comfort, mile after blissful mile. The Endurance X2 Bib Short precisely wraps your body with its eight-panel design and compressive fit. Endurance Evolution fabric rapidly wicks moisture off your body while supporting key muscle groups on the road. Castelli tweaked their signature bib straps for an enhanced fit across a wide variety of body types.

Sitting at the heart of this bib short, the Progetto X2 Air chamois promotes breathable comfort as its name suggests. Its absence of seaming or folds sits smoothly against your skin, with a bacteriostatic layer that prevents saddle sores during long grinds and endurance efforts. Four-way stretch fabric conforms to your every movement, with multi-density padding for relief from saddle pressure and unruly road vibration. Preventing the bottoms from riding up, Giro 3 leg grippers retain a secure fit while sitting flat against your skin for irritation-free wear. Castelli placed reflective tabs along the back of the legs for added visibility when you're finishing late-evening rides or racking up miles at dawn.

Long Days in the Saddle

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

So there are a group of guys that I ride with that take epic rides to a new level. I joined the 4 days and 500 mile ride this year and planned ahead with some of my most comfortable bib shorts. I have an older version of these, and those have been great on 100 mile rides, so I purchased these as well. I am about 195lbs and 6'2. I wore these on our longest day of 156 miles from Escanaba MI, to Manitawoc WI. Very comfortable for the ride and the chamios did what it was supposed. I have not experienced them coming apart, and I have worn and washed them quite a few times.

Great Bib for the price! Minus one issue

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

I really like this bib. The fit is great and the chamois is very comfortable. I also ordered up a size and have no complaints there but after a few uses and a wash, the side lettering began to come off. Small detail but it bothered me. I only use these on longer rides so I have not experience the stitching issue most seem to have. Maybe this bib isn't for everyday use but either way I hope not to have that problem.

Seams ripped after 5 uses

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

These bibs look great, and the chamois is very comfortable on long rides. The big problem is the front upper thigh seams ripped after just a few uses. Castelli warranty says to go to the retailer I purchased this from (this website), but Comp Cyclist says to go to the manufacturer. No solutions here, I guess I'm out 90 bucks.

Good everyday bib with a decent fit.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

The styling is great on these bibs. They fit like Castelli ... so SNUG. If you are going for a bib with the X2 chamois I would take a look at the Aero Race. I have a sprinters build and I prefer the Aero Race. They are both snug, but I find the Aero Race more comfortable. The front is cut a bit lower on these Endurance X2s and sometimes just feels weird. I prefer the Aero Race because it just keeps more compression on the core.

The bibs are well made and have stood up to 2-3 washes a week since the spring. I purchased during the spring sale and these were completely worth the price I paid them.

It's Ok

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I like the look and fit on the legs. I find the bib straps to be a little on the weaker side especially compared to my Pearl Izumi bib. It feels like gauze on the shoulders.

inferior stitching

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The shorts are very comfortable, and I liked the chamois. Unfortunately after only about a dozen times wearing them, the stitching pulled apart at the seams in the front, and I can no longer wear them without exposing myself. I am careful to wash the shorts on a gentle cycle and air dry them.

Castelli x2 endurance

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Chamois is good. Overall quality poor. The stitching around the chamois separated. I will not purchase Castellis again.

All day riding

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

As indicated on the product page, it does run small. I ordered the L instead of M and it fits perfectly. The pad, stitching and cut of the panels are very much geared to very long days in the saddle. I loved this bib so much I bought a second to bring along on multi-day rides.

Great shorts but short and tight.

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium

Loving the new bibs as far as the progetto pad goes, form fitting, nice on long rides and doesn't bunch up like less expensive gear. But I'm quite thin, 150 and 5'10" and they are borderline too tight in medium. I'm hoping they stretch a bit with time so they'll be more comfortable on the shoulders and crotch. I was warned that Castelli run small but I've never worn a large anything in my life, so...went with med. Time will tell if that was a mistake. Chose your size carefully.

Always size up +1 with Castelli. Always. (sometimes +2).

    Good chamois. Bad wicking!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

The chamois is awesome! Enough padding for long rides. However, the chamois doesn't wick so your privates will be wicked wet on warmer days. Felt my olives were floating in a martini and my bum was wet like a soggy hamburger bun. Don't think I'll buy again.

    Great bib short. Padding rocks

Really happy with them. Glad I found them with jersey combo

    Great Chamois

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

I love the X2 Air chamois I have another pair (Castelli Free Aero Race) . My only comment is I wish ALL brands made an option for taller riders with an extra inch or two of leg length.

Absolutely, I agree on the Tall size!

    Decent if on sale

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

Bought these on sale. They look great. Good for long rides, but not as good as a gel chamois. Perfect fabric thickness for slightly cooler rides, but a little thick for the deal of summer

    The Real Deal

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XXL

I am a big guy with a muscular athletic build. I ordered the XXL based on other posted comments. Simply stated, the shorts fit great. I have broad shoulders and I did not have a problem getting the straps to fit right. I road back to back centuries in these Castelli bibs...they are the real deal for long distance rides...just get the right size for your body. They are worth the extra dollars. *****

Great fit, great comfort for long rides

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I got hooked on Castelli shorts when I picked up some bib tights for riding in the cold weather. These shorts we just as great. The fit and finish are superb. They run true to size. The padding is really nice for long rides. They are a little on the expensive side, but everything about them worked for me including the long ride comfort. I would recommend to a friend and I would buy again.

    Tight straps

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large and XL

This bib definitely runs small. I usually wear a large. After reading other reviews I ordered both a large and XL. The XL fit my legs perfectly but the bib straps were too short and cut into my shoulders. I'm 6'0" and 165 lbs. and the Pearl Izumi bibs fit perfectly.

    Runs very small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I own several Castelli bib shorts in large, and I understand Italian sizing. I'm 5'10, 168 lbs, and I appreciate that sometimes I may need an x-large in Castelli. I took a risk and ordered the large for these bibs... I could barely get my thighs into them and would not even attempt to put on the shoulder straps.

    Best bib...almost!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this bib for only about a month and it's been awesome so far. In fact, I own several Castelli bibs including Aero, Body paint and Velocissimo and this is by far the best fitting for my body. Little on the tight side due the compression material but after a few outings it's been perfect.

As mentioned above- it's almost a perfect bib except for the stitching on the front side (both sides) by straps are starting to come apart. Not sure if it would need to be warrantied? I truly like them a lot and would buy it again if the stitching issue is rectified.

CC please advise if this need to be sent back? Aside from that it's perfect!

    Best bib...almost!

Unfortunately, the same thing happened to me. The stitching came completely apart and had to return them under warranty. The Competitive Cyclist/Backcountry crew was super helpful so it was no problem. Like you I was very happy with the shorts because they fit me perfectly and was bummed when I had to return them.
