Description

So cozy, you’ll almost hope for rain. Almost.

If the weather can only be appropriately described as a deluge, the Castelli Diluvio Shoecover will keep your feet warm and dry while you knock out the training miles. The Diluvio’s three millimeter-thick neoprene has thermosealed seams to block water, and cleat and heel cut-outs to make walking a little easier. Please note: The fit of the Diluvio cover spans both sizes listed on Castelli's fit chart.

They work

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Always hesitant to ride in the cold because my feet are the first to go. Not with these. Just arrived in the mail and went on a 30 mile ride. Temp. 28-30 degrees Fahrenheit. Never got cold. Stayed warm entire ride. I have the matching gloves also and they work as well. Got the shoe covers in XXL as i wear a size 12.5 US. Easy roll on fit and removal . These are neoprene , so your hands and feet will sweat , hence they will be damp when removed. Neoprene does not breathe. Booties will probably work at a lower temp.,but the gloves might not work as well at subfreezing temps.simply because that when you separate your fingers ,not as effective as mitts.or lobster style gloves.

Good for rain and cold weather

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used them in rain, and in cold weather, and the work well on both, the fit is very good, and they actually look cool, had complements on my big Scorpions.

Snug fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wear a size 42 shoe and have the L/XL booties which fit nice and snug. One thing to note is that to put the covers on, I turn them inside out and roll them over the shoes. This works just fine but I fear that it will wear on the seams faster. I went out in 20+ degree weather and was fairly comfortable.

I am a size 44 Shimano, the chart recommends Large, should i go up one size?

Best Answer Responded on

You would need the L/XL for this one.

Responded on

I actually wear a 42 and the L/XL size is very snug, I was not surprise that after a few rides it just teared the back of the show covers... I recently bought a pair of Endura show covers and they kept me warmer and drier than the Castellis.

I wear size 37...it doesn't look like these would fit my shoes. Any suggestions?

Responded on

You are correct that the Small/Medium will fit sizes 39-42, and might be a little big for you. Giordana, Craft, and Louis Garneau all make shoe covers in Extra-small sizes, and make Neoprene covers similar to these. Give me a call to discuss specific models!

Are these light on your feet? I have a pair of Pearl Izumi that make me feel like I am carrying 10 extra pounds. I'm looking for an alternative. Need something that will keep my feet warm in the 30s, but without the bulk.

Best Answer Responded on

These are very light on the feet, and I've used them down to the mid-30's so far with great results.

Fits the bill

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Neoprene shoe covers. They keep my feet warm in the 40's and fit clean and snug over my 46.5 SIDI's in a XXL. I found that folding them almost completely inside out and then rolling them onto my shoes made them go on the easiest.

Great for cold weather

I tried the Craft booties before these and my toes were freezing. I went out in 37 degrees with these on my feet and stayed nice and warm. They are easy to put on and off and look great. They seem to be high quality.

Has anyone ridden with these in warmer weather? Warmer to me is 45-65F. I'm looking for something that will span that gap of fall and early spring weather... Anyone tried with with just their shoes and a light summer sock to see just how warm they are?

Best Answer Responded on

they would be a bit "toasty" for those temps.

Responded on

Ive worn them up in 50s range before and my feet sweat a lot. It all gets trapped inside the neoprene too, so your shoes/socks end up pretty gross. I usually wear a pair of oversocks or two at that temperature range. Generally cheap, keep the grit off your shoes, and don't overheat your feet.

FANTASTIC !!

I have FINALLY found a shoe cover that actually keeps my toes from going numb in the cold winter rides here in WA State. Temps 35 deg. windy 18 mph, my feet and especially my toes stayed warm on a 15 mile ride. The fit is excellent. I wear a 47 road bike shoe, got XXL fits perfect.

My shoes are 44.5. Looks like I need an L or XL. Do you only have XXL? I can't see where I can order any other size.

Responded on

Looks like a L/XL is available in the dropdown now.

Just right

I was told to get these by a friend and i see why. They are awesome. I rode in 37 degrees and no problem at all. They are easy to slip on over your shoes and don't shift. If you are not thinking of your feet during a cold ride, then you know you have the right cover. I don't know about rain with them but they do seem quite durable so far. The right choice for shoecovers.

Hi
I would like to know if the XXL will fit over the Lake mxz302 Mountain Bike shoes in size 47 standard width? I know Castelli tends to run small and since I only see the largest size in XXL I was wondering how they will fit over the Lakes especially with the Vibram soles.

Responded on

Yes, it will fit with no problems. I wear it over my size 47 road shoes and it is easy to pull on and off.

Write your question here...Would these work with mountain bike shoes?

Yup…..these are the ones!

Very warm, keeps out water to a point. if it is pouring out your feet will get wet no matter what but it better to have wet WARM feet. Love that they do NOT have a zipper; always find that the zipper digs in too often!

Perfect for cold, wind or rain

The fit is dead on (XXL, size 46 shoe) and the look is unique. The scorpion is huge and looks great. Durable neoprene and a heavy duty velcro strap. My feet sweat internally, but the wind & rain doesn't get through the shoe vents to freeze my toes. 2 pairs of socks and these covers can handle 35-40 degrees for 3 hours with ease.

Responded on

Love these shoecovers! Haven't ridden in rain, but have put them on during cold days of 25--35 and they keep me warm and cozy. Easy on/off as they are ultra stretchy. I'm a woman, shoe size 40.5, so thought the men's large suggested by the RealCycle staff would be too big, but they fit me well. The huge scorpion is very flashy. If you want to temper it a bit, you can switch the right/left ones and the outside will just read "Castelle". A good purchase.

Responded on

Glad I'm not the only one to put them on the opposite feet, although it was more a matter of not paying attention rather than fashion

Great for icky weather

Nothing better for wet days, or wet pavement. Size L fits 44.5 Sidi Genius. If it's wet outside there is no point trying to stay dry because eventually you can't so why not go with the "warm wet" you get with neoprene? Neoprene covers fit snug, without wrinkles. The cleat holes line up fine with Look/Shimano sole. If they were about 2cm taller I'd give 'em five stars.
