Castelli Confronto Jacket - Women's $0.00
Castelli combined the best attributes provided by softshell and hardshell jackets when developing its new Confronto. By using advanced fabrics and a new paneling design, Castelli created the jacket to provide you with a full range of motion while on the bike, as well as complete upper body protection from the rain, wind, and cold. Now you have no excuses for trying to flee to the gym when the weather takes a turn.
To make the Confronto jacket your go-to for wet weather riding, Castelli constructed it from the Torrent 2L fabric. This material is completely waterproof, wind-resistant, and highly breathable. And while we're always hesitant to support claims of waterproofness and breathability, this material has a water column rating of 10,000mm and a Moisture Vapor Perspiration (MVP) of 8000. Additionally, Castelli taped the critical seams of the jacket, included at the high collar, and installed a waterproof zipper in order to keep water from trickling in unexpectedly. For breathability, Castelli placed two large ventilation ports on the rear portion of the jacket. Together, the fabric's attributes and characteristics provide a level of protection that keeps water from getting in, but rapidly assists its getting out.
Just as importantly, Torrent 2L was selected for its high degree of stretch. As a result, the Confronto provides a hard-shell level of protection with the feel and freedom of movement of a softshell jacket. This clever system of protection also accentuates the purposeful women's-specific cut and fit of the Confronto. Essentially, the jacket's shape has been cut to mirror the female body while in the cycling position. So, you'll notice that the back has been elongated with the sleeves. This way, the annoyance of fabric bunching and pulling has been eliminated while you're on the hoods or in the drops. Now, there's no chafing or seam abrasion, and Castelli even took the extra step of lining the jacket in breathable mesh in order to ensure this.
Castelli finished off the jacket with reflective detailing to keep you seen by motorists in low-light riding conditions.
The Castelli Confronto Jacket is available in five sizes from X-Small through X-Large and in the colors Black/white and White/black.

Great windproof, water resistant jacket
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
- Fit:True to size
This jacket is pretty perfect for shoulder season in the northeast. The Windproof fabric warms you up very quickly. I have only used it in light rain so far, but it worked well. It is not as packable as I would like, probably because of the bulk of the liner, but it will fit into a jersey pocket. I have a long reach, and the cuffs are long enough. I purchased the white and black, which provides just enough visibility on pre dawn rides.
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
- Fit:Runs large
there's plenty of room for layering but if it's cold enough to really layer, this isn't the right jacket, it's pretty thin. Gave me boob loaf in the front, flappy in the back. And the worst part, not a single pocket! Whyyy? Destroyed in my first wreck before I could return it... :(
Roomy not as fitted as I'd hoped
- Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
Haven't used this riding yet but in terms of just trying it on I thought it would be much more fitted. My Castelli (S) jerseys are very fitted but this is really roomy in size S, I am wondering if it's too big there's heaps of extra material around the bust area and it bunches when I lean forward in riding position. Kinda odd as I thought Castelli was sized small, all the recent stuff I got seems big and baggy.
My measurements fall into S on the size chart except for my bust which is larger... maybe XS would be too small tho.... undecided as to whether to return...
Update - I returned it simply not a good fit
