Castelli Body Paint 2.0 Women's Shorts $199.95
The racing short that pros built.
In spite of the fact that Castelli makes a wonderfully comfortable pair of women's bib shorts, there are still all sorts of reasons why you may still prefer bib-less shorts. Whether you're looking for comfort or simplicity, or both, you'll get them from the Castelli Body Paint 2.0 Women's Shorts. From their remarkable fit that looks and feels painted on to a host of improved features, these shorts will spoil you completely for any other kit.
The shorts on the Women's Body Paint 2.0 Shorts are formed from a single piece of seamless fabric for a naturally supportive fit. The shorts feel like they are hugging you perfectly in any position, thanks to this anatomic fit and the as well as the highly compressive fabric. This smooth fit, combined with the aero dimples employed in the material, make this is the most aerodynamic short on the market. Castelli engineered the dimples into the fabric to induce flow separation and reduce aerodynamic drag. Think of it as the clothing equivalent for the Zipp rim dimples.
Virtually no seams also means that there are fewer places to irritate your body and there are fewer opportunities for a wardrobe malfunction to occur. After all, who hasn't experienced a perfectly good pair of shorts coming apart at the seams?
Perhaps nothing in these shorts has benefited as much from Castelli's association with professional cycling teams as the Progetto X2 Air Seat Pad. The Garmin-Cervelo team spent a year testing this short; that's a lot of saddle time to be thinking about how comfort could be improved. Since Castelli had it pretty right to begin with, there wasn't much more than tweaking going on. What it has done is add a perforated foam layer to the pad to help ventilate and keep the nether regions cooler by allowing air to flow directly onto the surface fabric. That layer sitting next to your skin is made from a four-way stretch, seamless, bacteriostatic layer designed to move with you, reducing any bunching and friction. The cushioning layer consists of strategically placed, multi-density foam. For good measure, perforated viscous comfort inserts have been added under the highly sensitive ischial and perineal pressure areas, so that your undercarriage will be supremely protected whether you are out on a two-hour weekday jaunt or training over cobbles for Roubaix.
The updated Giro3 integrated leg grippers have been intelligently fashioned so that the grip material has been knit directly into the short. The generous 5 cm wide band gently compresses to secure the leg hem in place. It also lies completely flat, keeping your leg as aero as if it were in a skin suit. Castelli engineered the wide Giro 2 waistband for comfort as well, making it soft, stretchy, and non-binding.
The Castelli Body Paint 2.0 Women's Shorts are available in a sleek Black with eye-catching Castelli branding. They come in sizes X-Small through X-Large.
- Wide waistband won't dig into your tummy on longer rides
- Sublimated Castelli logo hit on the legs provides a subtly feminine touch

The Cadillac of biking shorts!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I have loved every ride I've been on since I got these shorts! They aren't too tight on my thighs at the bottom of the shorts and they have the BEST chamois padding. I do admit it makes me feel like I'm wearing a diaper when I'm not in the saddle, but it's worth it. I definitely wear these for my long 2hr+ rides.
This is the second pair of body paint 2.0...
This is the second pair of body paint 2.0 shorts I have tried. Both of them had the same defect. THe front edge of the chamois is rolling up/doubling over. I thought the first pair was just a fluke, but didn't even try on the new ones, they came straight out of the bag like this. Has anyone else had this issue. I really want to like these, but not willing to fight w the chamois. Hate to order a third pair only to find its just how they are made?
I'm not quite sure if I'm answering your question correctly but here's my thought...
I tried to upload a picture of my Castelli body paint chamois so you can compare with the ones you've gotten. I do have a general lump that forms towards the front of the chamois when it lays flat. However since the shorts are spandex, when I put them on they stretch to fit the chamois perfectly. So the bump completely goes away and I am comfy as I ride- no ridges felt.
I hope that helps.
Thanks Megan, makes me hope third time is the charm, we shall see!
I ordered a pair of these shorts and was worried about the issues you ran into with the chamois rolling - and when you lay them out they do have a strange "bump". However, just came back from several hours riding and I have to say they were great - no issues once on - great fit and great leg support. The chamois is a bit bulky off the bike, but no rolling and certainly very comfortable on the bike. I hope they work out for you!
Worth every penny

SO comfortable! Great compression, excellent fit, top-of-the line breathability...I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Size small was a good fit (5'7", 120#), comparable to Castelli windstopper tights in terms of sizing.
