Description

Long before synthetic shoe covers became the norm, feet still got cold. In Belgium, riders often took old wool socks, cut holes in the bottom, and used them as shoe covers. And while there's nothing wrong with wool, Castelli's Belgian Bootie 3 Shoe Covers update the classic so that even your non-Belgian feet will stay toasty.

Constructed using 100% polypropylene for increased durability and easy cleaning, the Belgian Bootie 3 features a double layer knit on the foot of the bootie to provide better protection. The booties are also cut high enough to cover the cuff of a 9cm sock and offer two silver bands of reflective threads for increased visibility. Perhaps more importantly, the Belgian Bootie 3 comes pre-cut for your cleats, meaning you'll avoid the rips and tears associated with homemade versions.

The Castelli Belgian Bootie 3 comes in Black or White and in three sizes — Small/Medium, Large/X-Large, and XX-Large. Be sure to check the sizing chart to ensure proper fit.

buy them big

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:Runs small

Bought these for when it's chilly but not freezing and they work. 40-50 degree F they're perfect anything colder and I'd recommend something neoprene. But if you buy them buy the big. I wear a size 10.5 US so I went with the L/XL I had to pull them so hard to get them over my shoes that they started to rip. When I took them off I ripped them even more. I bought them on sale very cheap so I can't complain but if I buy them again I'd def get the XXL.

Looks good

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just got these, tried them out in low 40's with wool socks and my feet were happy. Time will tell how well they hold up. There is a hole for your cleat but nothing for the heal pad so I suspect that is where they may begin coming apart first. I may cut a hole and melt the edges to stave off this breakdown.

Product Quality

I thought since it is a Castelli product it would be good. Don't bother buying these, fell apart in 3-months. Buying another product like DeFeet.
