We are always on the lookout for clothing pieces that will make our cold day rides a bit more pleasant. The Capo Verona Wind Vest is one of those items that will keep you comfy on cold windy days and make you wonder why it took so long for you to find this the perfect solution to your windy-weather riding.

The WindTex Flight Plus fabric on the front panels of the vest has the right mix between weight and suppleness. As light as it feels, you'll be astounded by how well it keeps the wind from penetrating to your undershirt. Make no mistake: this is a heavy-duty wind stopping fabric. Capo has been careful to include a mesh back to allow for excellent ventilation and to prevent any overheating.

Perhaps our favorite aspect of the vest is that Capo had the foresight to add three roomy back pockets. Why don't more vests have this, we always ask ourselves? Mind you, it adds a bit of bulk compared to a vest with no pockets, but it's still packable in a jersey pocket. Ultimately, it's a layer that is best worn on very cool, blustery days when wind protection for your core is what you need for comfortable riding. On such occasions, you're constantly fumbling underneath a typical vest digging in your jersey pockets. Who wants to do that, though? We'd much rather have the pockets on the vest so that we can have immediate access to our gel packs, phone, money clip, and even have room to stash one more layer in case the weather turns to rain.

The Capo Verona Wind Vest is the perfect foil for those blustery days. And since it matches the rest of the Verona collection in either White or Red, you can feel all the more pro when you combine it with your Verona Knickers and Long Sleeve Jersey. It's available in Small through XX-Large.

Here's what others have to say...

Does the job, but....

As far as performance I don't have any issues at all. Worn this in temps down in the mid 30'sF, and it kept the chill off. However, after only a few months of use, this vest is falling apart. The elastic is popping through all over the place and the front is beginning to look like a pimple faced teen. Probably why it was on sale for $35.00.

For Capo higher end clothing, this was a huge let-down.

    An AMAZING vest!

    • Gender:Male
    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I have used this vest several times and it has worked perfectly. The quality of the material is amazing and the added benefit of pockets is an added plus. I would highly recommend this vest.

My primary concern to purchase this item was to block the cold wind from my chest. IT DID THE JOB PERFECTLY! In addition to blocking the cold wind, it keeps you cool with the back part of it being vented.

Best in the Vest-verona wind vest

im 6ft 190lb athletic build, 2xxl is the right fit but,you can work with the XL too, zip this vest up and your core feels no wind chills. Zip, Zero, Nada! but you dont over heat either. material, zipper, and elastic are top notch, 3 pockets in the rear are whats up and both colors are HOTT but red is really on FIRE!

Good Vest when above 40 degrees

      • Gender:Male
      • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this vest at the last minute because I realized that the temperature for an out of town 2 day ride was going to drop down to the low 40's. Thank goodness I had it. It served its purpose by keeping my core warmer. It definitely would have helped if I had some winter gloves, so I probably felt colder than I should have. Also having the pockets in the back are a huge bonus. I have seen other vests that do not have any pockets so you have to reach under to your jersey.

      Good wind-breaking vest

      • Gender:Male
      • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I wore this the other night for a ride that got down in the 50's. In the high 50's I was OK, in the lower 50's with some speed I did feel a chill. That might have also been because I had no gloves/hat and I run a little cold anyway. It looks great and I love the 3 pockets in the back, plenty of room to store a couple gel-packs, phone, hat/gloves, etc. And the price was great. I'm tall and sometimes have to size up for cycling gear, but this was good in a large.

      Essential for windy days!

I'm 5'7 145lbs and size 37" chest. I wear s in capo Verona an Modena jerseys. I bought this vest in a small and it fits perfect. No slack , great fit and importantly looks very "pro" :) the front wind material is great while the mesh on the back keeps body temps regulated. No issues at all the the vest ! I wear the vest usually from temps low 50s to 60. Either over l/s jersey or s/s with arm warmers

I found this review very helpful. I'm 5'6" (63kg) and ordered the "Small" based on this review. Spot on. Thanks.

        The Catalina Wine Mixer!

Was looking for a new cycling vest and picked the Capo Verona Wind vest up in red on BT. I thought the red looked sweet in the photos on the website, but in person the vest exceeded my expectations! The Verona vest was exactly what I was looking for in regards to: 1) windproof/breathable front 2) mesh/breathable back 3) rear pockets 4) durable and easy to use zipper.

I took this out today on a 2 hour ride in 55 degree temps and it performed very well. Rode a mix of rollers and ended with a 20 minute climb and then decended back home. I did not overheat on the climb, nor did I need to unzip the vest to get some cool air on my chest. The vest did a great job shielding me on my decent back home. Top marks go to the quality of materials, construction, as well as the looks. I highly recommend this vest, especially at the BT price!
