Capo Thermo Roubaix Skull Cap $39.95
Cover your dome.
Chances are, you don't have a 'special' helmet for the winter. Instead, you're trapped in the cold by the helmet's best summertime feature -- its ventilation. To free yourself from this conundrum, we suggest the Capo Thermo Roubaix Skull Cap. It's thin enough to fit under your helmet, but strong enough to stave off the chills of cold wintertime riding.
Capo selected the ultra-warming and heavy wicking Thermo Roubaix fabric. With a warp-knit construction, the material is given a natural stretch. Within the knit, the threads follow a zig-zag pattern along the length of the pattern. This allows more surface area coverage while using less material, equating directly to an airy, lightweight construction. Thermo Roubaix's open weave also accelerates moisture transfer from the skin to the quick-drying surface of the cap, however, the fabric's precise brushing process is what's attributable to its warmth. The brushed inner-lining provides a high, fleecy, and warming loft.
The shape of the Skull Cap is minimally seamed in order to reduce the possibility of abrasion. The thin construction fits easily under any helmet, and the head band is cut low enough to cover the entirety of your ears.
The Capo Thermo Roubaix Skull Cap is available in one size and in the colors Black, Red, and White. Every cap is made in Italy, and is most effective in temperatures ranging between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Natural Waist:
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
- Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
What community has to say
Great for under helmet on cool days
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Got it to wear under my helmet on rides when temps are upper 30s - upper 40s when I don't need a full balaclava but want some insulation for my bald dome. Works great. Nicely made w/silky, stretchy feel. Fits comfortably under helmet. Covers ears. I wear M size helmet, hats, beanies, etc. and this is just the right size, altho it might be a bit snug if you need a L helmet and have a thick mane or too big if you wear a S.
Small: Pops off
Skull Cap means "extremely tight on your bean." The band area is a smooth lycra, which combined with the tight fit results in a very good change that this cap will pop off, fly across the room and break a lamp.
You've been warned. Sent mine back.
