What community has to say
Since everything seems to run small when it comes to cycling gear, I assumed socks would as well. Mind you, I wear the lowest profile socks on the planet in my daily life, however, I am open to new ideas with cycling. I wanted to keep to my norms when ordering this sock and I am a true size 12/43.5. . .ordered the Large. . .and they are way TOO big. I mean the heel portion is on my achilles so I am getting a Small. The socks are thin, but I have seen thinner - if you like lowpro, you're happy with these if you get the right size! :)

What is the material this sock is made of?
The name Tactel® is derived from tacto the Latin word for touch. Tactel® is a special type of nylon that was first introduced as a unique product in 1983. It was originally used in manufacturing ski apparel, but designers quickly discovered the fabric offered benefits for other types of garments as well.
If youre not familiar with synthetic fabrics, you may be surprised to learn that items made with Tactel® offer several benefits. Tactel® is said to dry eight times faster than cotton, but it is at least twice as soft as most other fibers. Tactel® is lightweight and breathable, making it appropriate for many different types of clothing. In addition, this fabric is three times as resilient as comparable natural fibers.
Super low profile sock
Really low profile - if you chose the sock that has the same upper color as your shoe, then I bet people would not even realize you were wearing socks. Quite thin, so if you rely on your sock for comfort/vibration damping (say with a really thin or sub-par insole... cough Sidi) you may feel it in your feet. As a size 9, I am at the low end of the Large size, so it is just a little big, but I would assume the Medium would be too tight.
