Capo Nico Short Sleeve Jersey $0.00
As part of Capo's new ATS line, the Nico Jersey is in the presence of inspired design. It offers trickle-down fabric technology and engineering, while still addressing the maximum performance and quality befitting of the ATS delineation. But first — what is ATS?
ATS is the process of creating a jersey that defies convention. To accomplish this, Capo had to completely re-think their design and production processes from the ground up. The goal was to create a garment of superior quality, comfort, performance, and protection, therefore run-of-the-mill polyester or pedestrian blends of Lycra would not be good enough. Thus, the Advanced Technology System (or 'ATS') was born. The idea behind ATS was simple: Capo would create their next generation of ride-enhancing cycling garments by combining the most technical Swiss and Italian fabrics they could find, with the most advanced production methods available. You could think of ATS as a bit of Italian mad science; a highly polished experiment in conceptual performance textiles, not unlike the exotic supercars that might grace the show floors of the Geneva Motor Show. Except these exceptional bib shorts go beyond existence as a concept, and are available to the discerning public.
Capo built the Nico Jersey around the advanced fabric concepts of the top-end Volta and Drago kits, but without using as many fabric stories or panels in the physical jersey's construction. The Nico is constructed primarily of a lightweight and highly elastic Carbon ATS microfiber (the same used on the Volta) in the main panels, and a stretch mesh in the underarms. A durable and equally elastic warp-knit fabric in the arms and back reinforce potential contact points should you ever suffer a fall. This fabric combination provides excellent freedom of movement, and helps the jersey retain a comfortable ergonomic shape at every moment during your ride. Carbon threads in the fabric assist with moisture transfer and speed its dry time, enabling the jersey to keep you cooler and dryer for the duration of your ride. Each hem and seam of the jersey is carefully folded and taped to eliminate potential irritation points, and maximize all-day comfort. The Nico is as close to a second skin as you may ever come.
The Nico is finished with a Schoeller coldblack treatment which reduces heat buildup while protecting you from the sun's harmful UV rays. This makes even black fabrics cool to the touch under the hottest sun, so you can imagine how well it assists your skin in naturally maintaining a regulated temperature. Three generous back pockets store all your essentials, and an additional zippered security pocket stashes a phone or media player for your ride. The pockets are highly elastic, so you can load them down without worrying about compromising the jersey's fit or your aerodynamic profile. The Capo Nico Jersey is available in either Black or White, and in sizes Small, through XX-Large.
- Stretch mesh underarms provide ample ventilation without disrupting the seamless-wrap fit of the jersey
- Schoeller ColdBlack fabric finish wards off heat build-up, keeping you cool even on the hottest rides
- From start to finish, the Nico kit is designed and produced entirely in Switzerland exclusively for Capo

- Fit: True to size
Very nice quality jersey, it's my first Capo so can't compare it to their others, but it seems just below Giordana FRC quality in terms of fabric and construction.
I'm 5'10", about 155 and have a 40 in chest, so right on the medium/large border according to their sizing chart. I got the medium and the fit is just right. Stretches nicely and is form fit, but unlike my Castelli large jerseys doesn't feel tight (but is). So I'd suggest sizing down one size from Castelli, and even Giordana FRC, jerseys, and if you're between the Capo sizes chose the smaller.
Based on the Nico I'll be looking for more Capo stuff.
Great for riding in warm weather. Amazing construction. The white jersey cleans up well. Best I have. Costs a little more but well worth it.
probably meant for the sprinter-types
The Nico is a strikingly beautiful jersey with a truly unique finish and fabric story. That being said, the fit is... 'odd,' at best. It's the first cycling jersey (kit, actually - see my review for the bib shorts) I've ever owned that didn't seem like it was tailored for the lean cycling type. I'm 5'11" and weigh around 150 - skinny for sure, but still muscular. I have several Capo club kits (from their SuperCorsa range) in size Medium that fit absolutely perfectly (I'm really just in-between Small and Medium). The Medium Nico jersey was the right length, but shockingly boxy leaving me to get the Small which is still boxier than some of my Medium jerseys (just fits shorter in the front). The fabric used in the body is significantly stretchy, but much less ergonomic than I would have preferred. Sleeves and hems are both nicely finished, and the ColdBlack technology has worked surprisingly well on extremely hot afternoon rides. The pockets have excellent stretch, and the fourth media pocket has a waterproof membrane to protect your phone or mp3 player from sweat - a nice touch for sure. In short, the Nico delivers, but only after I'd exchanged for a Small and slightly lowered my expectations.
