Keep it simple.

There's little about the Capo Modena Jersey that doesn't portray 'timeless.' A staple jersey for either training or racing, the Modena looks and fits like a classic. Its signature double racing-striped motif running down the left side of the jersey pays homage to Italy's traditional racing roots. In fact, Modena is named after the legendary Autodrome in Modena, Italy, where speed and tradition go hand-in-hand.

The Modena jersey uses Capo's Drop fabric. This is Capo's most versatile knit, with tiny teardrop vents throughout the material that resemble an extra-fine stretch mesh. Drop fabric wicks well, breathes well, and has some stretch to it. The fabric is also durable. In fact, it can take years of machine washing and drying and still look the same as it did when new. And because the material is not super stretchy, this jersey has a more relaxed, standard fit than your typical racing jersey -- somewhat-close is more of the style cue taken here.

For on-the-fly heat dumps, Capo incorporated a hidden, full-length, and lockable zipper. Keep the lever in the upright position when you want the freedom to pull your jersey open with a single hand. And when you hit the descent, simply flip the lever down to lock it in position. With its raglan sleeve construction (rather than set-in sleeves), reaching for the handlebars feels natural and maximizes in-saddle comfort without stretching out the shoulders. And to top it all off, the Modena has three pockets in back and a silicone gel gripper at the waist to help keep things in place.

The Capo Modena Jersey is available five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black, Cyan, Navy, and White.

Capo de Capo

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My second Capo jersey.
Fine job.
Depending on cut and availability its either xl or xxl
I went with xl here. Not skin tight, just right.
Capo becoming one of my favorites. Plan to order another.
42 chest
35 waist
xl works well

A bit short, good for $54

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased this jersey at the sale price of $53.97. I would say that is exactly what it is worth. Had I paid full price, I believe I would have been a little disappointed. The fabric is not as soft as I would expect out of a $89 jersey.

The biggest issue you may find with these jerseys is the length. Were I not wearing bibs, I believe this jersey may end up looking like a belly shirt when I stand. When riding/seated, it is fine. I'm approx 5'10" with a 39" chest. I got the M and the size (outside of the length) is good through the chest.

It's a bit loose through the stomach. Certainly not a Euro fit.

Overall, I'd buy again at the sale price.

XL short for tall folks

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

I'm 6'5" 208lbs with broad shoulders and the XL is too short. The rest of it fits good. Didn't want to go XXL as those are usually too wide. Returning it as I don't want to ride in a belly shirt.

How does a contoured jersey fit?

How does a contoured jersey fit?

Responded on

Hey man, I don't know what they mean by "contoured", but the fit is more on the American side than the full-on Italian/Euro super skinny dude cut. I'm 6'1 and 180. The large fits me pretty well. Hell, the sleeves are actually a little long, and a little loose for my taste. Nothing my sewing machine can't fix...
I'd say the size chart is dead on....

So did not mean to flag Mark Merrill's post, it was great and spot on as I did order this jersey and found his description accurate. I accidentally hit flag response because I was trying to find a way to thank Mark for the input. Oops!
