Capo Lombardia DWR Jersey $159.95
Meet your new super jersey.
The Giro di Lombardia marks one of the final races on the European road calendar, and its fall time slot means that riders are often met with an assortment of weather conditions come race day. In honor of the storied Classic, Capo decided to design a collection of element-blocking apparel bearing the event's name. The Lombardia DWR Jersey stands in at the top of the line, incorporating both a jersey and core protection layer into a single hybrid design.
Capo constructed the Lombardia using its proven DWR-treated Thermo Roubaix fabric. With a warp-knit construction, this material has a natural stretch. Within the knit, the threads follow a zig-zag pattern along the length of the jersey. This allows more surface area coverage while using less material, equating directly to an airy, lightweight construction. Thermo Roubaix's open weave also accelerates moisture transfer from the skin to the quick-drying surface of the jersey, but the precise brushing process is what contributes most to its warmth. After the dying process, dedicated machines perform a brush to the inner-lining that provides a high, fleecy, and warming loft.
The cut of the Lombardia is just as effective in blocking the wind, water, and cold as the material used in its design. Capo took a hard look at its top-end race jerseys, and it applied its streamlined fits as a starting platform. With a body-following cut, the Lombardia features paneling that smoothly wraps the upper arms and torso, which serves to follow your motions while in the saddle. Capo extended the sleeves down to just above the elbow, providing just the right balance of protection and freedom of movement.
A drop-tail hem was also added, similar to Capo's best jackets, in order to block wheel-spray and to keep your back-end adequately shielded. A tall collar keeps you sealed up top, and a full-length front zipper lets you regulate your temperature as needed. Capo finished off the Lombardia jersey with reflective tabs on the hems, as well as reflective logos front and rear. Three rear pockets line the lower back panel in order to house all of your riding essentials.
The Capo Lombardia Jersey is available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large.

I wore this jersey for the majority of my road rides this fall. The interior has a light layer of soft fleece, which made it ideal from both a comfort and insulation standpoint. The tall collar kept out the drafts and the longer-than-average sleeves held my warmers in place without an issue. Great jersey on its own, or as a layer underneath a shell. Nice work, Capo.
