Description

Neoprene isn't just for surfers

Is misty, cold weather that chills your hands keeping you from riding? Are your lobster gloves just too warm for the shoulder season? The Capo Iso Neoprene LF Glove is a single layer glove that keeps the wind and rain from ruining your ride.

Many cold weather gloves feature water-resistant layers filled with insulation, however, 3mm neoprene is the material of choice for the Capo Iso Neoprene LF Glove. Neoprene is an all-in-one stretchy, insulating material that is wind and rain resistant. And if you are out in a deluge, neoprene's unique property of holding body heat in will keep your hands warm even if they do get wet. — just like surfers are kept warm in wetsuits. The gloves' cut eliminates the seam between the thumb and forefinger which makes riding on the hoods more comfortable. Silicone grip pattern on the fingers and palms provides a firm handlebar interface. The glove tapers to a fitted cuff which helps seal out cold at your wrists.

The RS Rain Glove is available in sizes Small/Medium and Large/X-Large in the color Black.

My new favorite cold weather gloves

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been searching for a good cold weather glove that wasn't going to leave me wanting for something better. I always felt like on my longer cold weather rides, as the ride wore on, my discomfort with my cold hands would force me to stop before I would have liked. These gloves are the answer to my prayers. They're simple neoprene, and have grippy pads on the inside palm and fingers. They give a good amount of padding without it being excessive. And they keep my hands WARM. No matter the temp. The one downside is you do perspire in them and your hands come out a bit "pruned" after 2 hours, but well worth it. And, they're not expensive. Sometimes the simple answer just works well.

Grip is good, look great, but not great.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I hate to say this because I was really looking forward to these working, but they don't. I was hoping they would work well in cold/freezing rain situations where I need gloves and want a good grip on the bars, but don't want to use my other pairs of gloves which are not waterproof or water resistant. In a light rain they work well. In a heavy to moderate rain they get drenched fast. My hands, as a result, got extremely cold very fast and I might as well have not had gloves in the first place. There's no lining in these - they are just straight up neoprene. I was using these in a 40 degree temp. Also, once they are wet, there's no hope of getting them back on again, so you are sunk if you are doing any kind of commuting or errands that might require you to take them on/off.
