Capo Dorato Short Sleeve Jersey $0.00
When life hands you lemons, paint 'em gold.
"I am a Golden God!" Robert Plant is alleged to have yelled these words while staring down at the Sunset Strip. Though we doubt he was wearing a predecessor of Capo's Dorato Short Sleeve Jersey at the time, the imperative is about a feeling of greatness. Whether or not Plant intended it, it hews somewhat closely to historic fact; a native chief supposedly covered himself in gold dust dove into a lake as an initiation ceremony. He was El Dorado. The mythic lost city of gold came later.
Covering yourself in gold might be the luxurious feeling you experience after zipping up this jersey. Your first glance might only reveal that while it is cut like a conventional jersey, there is something different about it. Just about everything is different about it. Your glance might have noted the caps on the sleeves. They are pretty tall. That's because they're bands of doubled-over HG Lycra. It functions as a soft, broad gripper, holding the sleeves to your arms and preventing them from flapping in the wind. While the jersey seems to have a traditional T shape, there are thin shoulder panels. This is also for a closer fit and better aerodynamics.
But the biggest thing about the Dorato is the HydroDrop fabric that makes up most of the jersey. This is a stretchy microfiber that feels soft, stretches almost as much as Lycra, and wicks and breathes great. The name comes first from the hydrophilic treatment that is given to the fabric to help draw moisture into the fabric, and second from the thinner drop-shaped areas that run throughout the jersey. This three-dimensional patterning further helps dissipate sweat. The "drops" are actually shaped differently throughout the jersey, minimizing and maximizing stretch where it is needed.
For what we politely call anti-odor technology, there are Silver fabric panels under the arms. Silver is Capo's dual-knit microfiber mesh that has silver threads woven into the fabric. The silver is naturally anti-bacterial, keeping that potentially odoriferous area of your jersey smelling ready for polite company.
A note on fit: The Dorato will fit very close, but with HydroDrop it moves with you. The length of the torso is a bit shorter than a typical jersey for better fit and the sleeves are a bit longer for better aerodynamics.
The Capo Dorato Short Sleeve Jersey comes with a full-length lockable hidden zipper, better for opening quickly and holding in place. There are three back pockets. A gel gripper holds the waist hem to your shorts. The colors are Black, Gold, and Red. Sizes run from Small to X-Large
- Camlock zipper can be 'unlocked,' allowing you to pull the jersey apart in a flash for quick, single-handed ventilation
- Three generous back pockets stash any essentials for the day's ride

Size down for a better fit
Picked up this jersey to match my Capo bib shorts and am very happy with my purchase. This is definitely as summer weight, warm weather jersey as it's quite thin. I normally wear XXL in Capo cycling clothing, but the XXL did not fit very tightly and I found the XL to provide the tight fit I was looking for. I can see if I wore the XXL how the pockets may fall down on my backside if I were carrying a lot of items, but since I sized down to an XL for a "race" type fit, I don't see any issues with packing the pockets full of any gear I may need to carry. I purchased the jersey in red and definitely like the shade of red, as well as the complimenting colors of the stripes. The material is extremely tight and silk-like. I like the cut of the sleeves as well as the lack of elastic on the cuff of the sleeves. Can't really find any faults with this jersey!
