Campagnolo made a big dent in brake design when they redesigned the Super Record brakes in a skeleton design, which made them nearly as light as machined brakes with the added advantage of being stronger and more durable. The Super Record RS Dual Pivot Brakeset continues with this design and graphically integrates with the rest of the RS gruppo.
The dual pivot design places a double pivot at the front, where you need more braking power, while relying upon a simple single pivot in the rear. This reduces weight and keeps the brake simple. Like the last edition, the brake shoes and pads were updated and include a safety tab which prevents the brake blocks from accidentally falling out. It is easily released with a small screwdriver when the time comes to replace brake pads. The pads are an all-weather compound that wear more slowly for longer-lasting, improved braking.
Ball-bearing pivots and a snappy spring give them a nice, secure feel when you squeeze the lever. A full complement of titanium nuts, bolts, and hardware keeps the weight down.
The Campagnolo Super Record RS Dual Pivot Brakeset was given the "Tricolore" graphic which pays subtle homage to their Italian heritage.
