The EVOlution of Super Record.

While Campagnolo's Super Record components signify its engineers' best efforts, Campagnolo just couldn't leave them well enough alone. This Super Record 11 Ultra-Torque Titanium EVO Crankset replaces the steel crank spindle that's normally used, with a titanium version that's 25% lighter and just as strong.

The bolt for the Hirth joint (what fastens the two halves together) has also been constructed from titanium in order to save another few grams. It's beautiful and strong, only now it's even lighter. This quest for light weight goes further than the spindle, though. They've removed the chainring nut from the chainring fixing equation. The rings are held to the crankset by five alloy bolts that go through the big ring and thread directly into the small chain ring — again, easier and lighter.

Let your eyes linger on the chainrings. Look closely at the shifting pins. There, you'll find the first sign that the rings have been re-engineered for faster shifting. Campagnolo calls this its XPSS (eXtreme Performance Shifting System). There are now eight dedicated sectors for up-shifting, with ramps and pins working in conjunction with a new tooth profile. But up is only half the story. Campagnolo has also optimized two new down-shifting sectors, with the new tooth profile working with ramps on the way down as well.

The crankset also uses the proprietary CULT bearing system — Campy's lowest friction coefficient bearing to date. The CULT bearings are ceramic, and are housed in Cronitect races with a thermochemical surface treatment in order to reduce bearing wear. The friction reduction is so great that Campy claims you gain 3.5 watts per pedal stroke in respect to the average energy loss from bearing friction.

The Campagnolo Super Record 11 Ultra-Torque Titanium EVO Crankset has unidirectional Carbon-Fiber crankarms with anodized Dark Grey XPSS chainrings and Black bolts. The two halves of the thru-axle are connected by a reverse-threaded titanium bolt. Lastly, the crankset is available with compact, 50/34t chainrings and 172.5mm crankarms.
