Precision power.

The Super Record 11 EPS Front Derailleur is a celebration of harmony between alluring Italian design and the most innovative front derailleur that Campagnolo has ever created. Its combination of materials, electronic functionality, and precise accuracy make it the most sought-after front derailleur in the world. Given that the Italian legend spent 20 years preparing for its flagship derailleur's initial release, it won't surprise anyone that not much has changed for the new model year.

The Super Record 11 EPS Front Derailleur uses an electronic actuator comprising a gear motor and an electronic sensor. Where it differs is in the details. The gear motor for the front derailleur's electronic actuator was developed with a Swiss company that manufactures electric motors for space missions to Mars, so it's not just space-age — it's space-worthy. Its high over-torque transmission results in precise, strong pulls, and the Magnetic Hall Sensor Resolver technology uses an internal sensor to automatically center the derailleur on the chain. It also communicates with the rear derailleur via the D.T.I. technology, which auto-trims the front to avoid chain rub, regardless of the gear combination.

As any gear head knows, Campagnolo loves a good hierarchy, and the Super Record EPS Front Derailleur earns its place at the top. Where Record 11 has alloy chain guide plates, Super Record uses carbon; where Record has steel motor mounts, Super Record uses alloy. This saves weight and adds a bit of snap to shifting.

The derailleur's co-molded frame-mounting hardware consists of an aluminum polymer blend, and the external derailleur rod, which works in conjunction with the electronic actuator, is held by a hollow hub and double wing with a double-finned pin for maximum precision through stiffness. The actuator itself is housed in a cascade gearbox that, along with the vibration-damping technopolymer-carbon body, minimizes vibration and allows movement to be transferred precisely.

One of our favorite features of EPS is that you can tune it in the saddle using controls on the shifter body, near the thumb lever. This allows for seven 0.1 millimeter adjustments to dial in your ride without interrupting it. The Super Record 11 EPS front derailleur is also IP67 compliant, a rigid international standard for electronics that requires perfect, continuous operation while submerged under water for 30 minutes. Road detritus and water don't stand a chance.

Campagnolo's EPS groups do retain some technologies from their mechanical counterpart, chief among these being the familiar Extreme Performance Shifting Systems (XPSS). XPSS comprises eight up-shift sectors of the large chain ring and two down-shift sectors of the small ring to ensure the smoothest and most direct chain transfer possible, so the burden for fast, precise shifting isn't all on the derailleur's shoulders.
