Record braking.

The above top line is a clear indication that the sporting puns made available by the naming convention of Campagnolo's Record 11 Skeleton Brakes don't exactly stop the presses, but the brakes themselves stop your bike just fine. The brakes are a pair of dual-pivot (front) and mono-pivot (rear), which puts the big stopping power in the front where you need it while minimizing weight in the back where the extra power won't produce as much stopping force.

The forged skeleton design of the brakes' bodies is similar to the previous generation's, which was and remains focused on stopping power, ease of use, and lightness. The entire body is forged, so no part of the body is CNC machined. That means there are no artificial weak points where structural failure might become a problem — a comforting thought when you're braking hard on a tight corner during a fast descent.

The Record 11 Skeleton Brakes save some weight compared to Chorus by using aluminum alloy instead of steel. They also benefit from some trickle-down technology, featuring the same serviceable ball-bearing design, orbital adjustment, and aramide-reinforced elastomer brake pads as Super Record. They also have the same safety tab that keeps your brake pads from accidentally falling out. The tab is in the back half of the shoe and is released with a little leverage from a small, common screwdriver.
