Neutron Ultra Road Wheelset - Clincher

As an introduction to the race-bred pedigree of components synonymous with all things Campagnolo, the Italians continue to deliver their proven Neutron Ultra Clincher Wheelset. Tried-and-tested almost feels like an understatement when describing the Neutrons, seeing as this reliable alloy clincher has truly become, as Campy says, "a well-established symbol of success" within its wheelset arsenal. It's not difficult to see why, as dependability is written all over their no-nonsense clincher construction.

Starting with the classic box-section rims, Campagnolo engineers applied their proven polygonal design to the shallow-profile aluminum hoops. Essentially, each 20mm rim features a welded joint for the utmost in durability, machined brake tracks for consistent braking, along with extensive milling between spoke holes to remove excess weight. Campagnolo also created the Neutrons with a front rim that is lighter than the rear and drilled for symmetrical spoke entry. The spoke drilling at the rear, by contrast, is asymmetrical, with the spokes entering the rim on the non-drive side to boost spoke tension and lateral stiffness. Speaking of spokes, the Neutrons received a generous 22 stainless straight-pull spokes at the front, and 24 at rear, which not only increases the wheels' overall durability, but also helps soak up road vibrations.

In the hub department, Campagnolo knew that the Neutrons would undoubtedly see high training and racing miles, which is why it built the wheels around its carbon-shelled, aluminum-flanged hubs. Providing the best in terms of low weight, clean aesthetics, and durability, this hubset continues to be a Campagnolo classic. The Monolithic freehub body ensures consistent engagement, and the standardized cup-and-cone stainless steel bearing system means many miles of silky-smooth, trouble-free riding.

The Campagnolo Neutron Ultra Clincher Wheelset is available in the color Black and comes with a Campagnolo freehub body that accepts 9-, 10- or 11-speed cassettes. With the wheelset, Campy included its Eccentric-closure system quick-release skewers, rim strips, and two wheel bags.
