Chorus 11 Ultra-Torque Carbon Crankset

Chorus is the gruppo that's for racers who are looking for performance without busting the bank. This Chorus 11 Ultra-Torque Crankset looks the same as Record and Super-Record, but they crankarms are different underneath the unidirectional carbon. Chorus cranks are not hollow; they have a core that the carbon-fiber is formed around. It costs you a weight penalty, but saves you at the bank.


Even with this difference, it shares many features of the ultra-high offerings. The rings are the same, brand-new XPSS, eXtreme Performance Shifting System. There are now eight dedicated sectors for upshifting, with ramps and pins working in conjunction with a new tooth profile. But up is only half the story. They've also optimized two new down-shifting sectors, with the new tooth profile working with ramps on the way down as well. You'll find this on both their compact and standard rings.


And just like the super-premium cranks, these have the same threaded inner-ring so you don't need chainring nuts anymore; the fixing bolts go through the outer ring and the arms of the spider and thread into the inner ring from there. Like they did with the bottom bracket cups, they relieved some metal from low stress areas in the spindle to lower the overall weight without sacrificing either stiffness or fatigue life.


All told, the smart redesign has yielded a weight savings of 16g compared to the previous Chorus crank with no other loss anywhere in the equation.


The Campagnolo Chorus 11 Ultra-Torque Carbon Crankset has unidirectional Carbon-Fiber crankarms with Dark Grey anodized chainrings and Black bolts. Campagnolo bearings are installed on both arms. The available chain ring options are a standard (135mm bolt circle diameter) with 53/39 rings or a compact (110mm bcd) with 50/34 rings. Crankarm lengths are 170, 172.5, and 175mm.
