too big for 1 person with little gear

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I saw the mention of Steamboat in the other review last year and purchased this, and found it was way too big for 1 person's daily needs. The other review said a family used it to carry gear, which sounds logical. At 854 cubic volume capacity, it holds A LOT. I carried an extra set of gloves, and other small gear, but it added 2+ inches to my back ,which is substantial when you are sitting on the narrow chair lifts at Steamboat....I had to constantly worry about not sitting well on the lifts. This year, I bought the 2 liter capacity (this one holds 3 liters, which is really too much for a day of skiing and heavy) one that is for trail runners and only holds a phone and keys....My winter coat already has pockets, so I don't need the capacity of this one....Recommended for a couple or small family....

great resort pack

I used this for the first time a few weeks ago in Steamboat. It held a day's worth of snacks, plenty of water and had enough room for my family of four to shed layers, balaclavas, etc. The internal pockets were handy for keys and a spare pair of goggles. I recommend this pack.
