Great Pack for Long Days

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I've logged several miles, long days, dusty wipeouts, and brutal hours while lugging around my water, fuel, and other essentials in this pack.

I not only use this for mountain biking, I also use this as my commuter pack. It's got enough space for a couple spare tubes, water, a couple of snacks, and even a change of clothes. I love the insulated hose, because taking a drink on a hot day, and getting a mouthful of hot water - is NOT pleasant.

Also - I'm a very broad shouldered guy, and this pack hits me in all the right places, much better than most hydration packs.

Would this bag work well for snowboardin...

Would this bag work well for snowboarding?

Best Answer

Hello deup800553,

Thanks for your question.

It would not be my first suggestion for a snowboarding pack. Mostly because the hose is not insulated so it will be easily frozen and you will not be able to drink from the valve.

Also, if you are backcountry riding i would absolutely not recommend it because it cannot hold a avalanche shovel and probe because the capacity and dimensions of the pack are too small.

I hope this helps.

I'd say it depends on the type of snowboarding you do (as mentioned above, it's definitely not the right pack for backcountry travel) and how often you go. Though it wasn't designed for snowboarding, the reality is plenty of people use their summer packs at the resort - especially if they only go a handful of times a year. The hose is actually insulated, so you'd have a bit of protection on a mildly cold day. (No bite valve cover though, so it won't protect your water from freezing if it drops too low.)

And because this pack was designed for downhill MTB, it has a low profile meant to be chair lift compatible.

So if you only want to bring water and shed layer on a typical resort day, personally I think you'd be happy with it. But if you need anything sport-specific, you should look elsewhere.

Cool pack!

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Holds everything I need for mountain biking including some brews :)

so comfortable!!!

this pack is awesome! i use it for mountain biking and i dont even notice when that wearing it. The pack sits low on my back which makes it more comfortable than the other packs ive worn. It holds a lot of stuff and the water bladder is simple and easy to use. The only down fall is that i got the orange one and its gotten dirty fast, but thats really no big deal. I totally recommend this product.
