5.0 Sunglasses

Cycling-specific eyewear dates back to the 1980s, with Oakley being at the helm of wraparound glasses. The '90s, however, were inspired by Briko, with both Cipollini and Pantani sporting euro-cool, albeit a bit alien-looking, eyewear that was not at all reminiscent of the clunky eyewear of a decade earlier. And while you may have thought that Briko is a brand from cycling's past, it's still manufacturing excellent cycling-specific eyewear. The 5.0 sunglasses are multi-sport sunglasses that were developed with the motto, "Passion to ride, ride for passion."

The frames of the 5.0 sunglasses are made from Grilamid. This is a thermoplastic material that is lightweight and non-allergenic. It is resistant to stress cracking and is highly flexible so that you don't crack the temple arms trying to slip them into your helmet vents after the ride is over. The frames feature soft, adjustable nose pads and ultra-gripping soft tips on the temple arms.

Unlike many sport sunglasses that require you to buy separate lenses for changing conditions, the Briko 5.0s come with five different lenses. The THRAMA Active 4000 AF are a high contrast lens for intense lighting conditions, the FiTHRA Grey Polarized AF reduce reflection from horizontal surfaces such as hot asphalt or water, the THRAMA Plus 80 are competition lenses that increase contrast, the REVO Metal Green increase color contrast between fore and back-ground and are ideal for urban environments, and the FiTHRA clear lens is perfect for your nighttime rides when you still need to protect your eyes from debris. The lenses are all treated with an anti-fog coating and feature vents at the sides to reduce moisture buildup from sweat. The lenses are also shatter-proof.

Briko's 5.0 Sunglasses come with the five lenses and are available in one frame color: Black/shiny white.
