Trailfox TF03 SLX/XT Complete Mountain Bike

The BMC Trailfox TF03 SLX-XT 2013 is a value-packed trail ripper that’s ready for anything. The suspension is super-efficient, but with 150mm of travel, it lets you to push your limits even farther. And thanks to the Shimano drivetrain and Fox suspension, it’s reliable too, so you’ll spend more time on the trail, and less time at home tinkering.

The TF03 uses a butted, hydroformed alloy tubeset. BMC's iSC (integrated Skeleton Concept) optimizes weight savings, strength, and ride characteristics by using Finite Elements Method (FEM) computer technology. Every 6000 series aluminum tube is shaped to exacting standards; what you get is a frame that reacts to rider inputs like power application, steering, and braking with impeccable efficiency and precision. BMC's extra attention to tube shape results in a frame that maximizes weight savings and stiffness.

Stroke is controlled using BMC's patented Advanced Pivot System rear suspension. It's essentially a mini-link rear suspension that creates a floating pivot. By positioning the floating pivot relative to the chainrings, the APS suspension maintains the efficient pedaling characteristic that world class riders demand from a high-performance trail bike. The Trailfox offers a generous 150mm of rear wheel travel damped by a FOX FLOAT CTD shock. It’s air sprung and has an external adjustment for rebound damping, as well as a three-position lever for adding low speed compression damping if needed on long climbs or mellower terrain.

This particular TF02 is runs on a Shimano SLX drivetrain, with the exception of an XT rear derailleur. Shimano’s proven SLX brakes and 180mm rotors keep your speed in check. Suspension duties are handled by FOX, with a FLOAT CTD rear shock, and a travel-adjustable 32 TALAS RL fork. Easton supplies the EA50 stem and seatpost, and a Vice handlebar. You’ll be perched on a Fi:zi’k Tundra saddle. The wheels are DT Swiss M1900’s, wrapped in Onza tires.
