We’ll list out all of the Bianchi Sempre’s technology bits, the standards it uses, and the marketing speak that goes along with those lists, but it doesn’t get to the heart of the matter. This is an Italian racing bicycle. And, while you can get one with no celeste, it seems it’d be a shame to pass on a celeste Italian racing bicycle. The Sempre, like all Bianchis, is built for the ride, and not for the data or the machines. It’s a bike that feels just right underneath you, and a bike that seems to react to your inputs before you’ve actually made them. You could point to the thin seatstays and ascribe to them the compliant ride, but, again, it’d be a miss.

The Sempre’s cables all route internally, to better preserve the aesthetic, and also to hide them from the wind. The straight-blade fork finishes with a tapered steerer tube, and the bottom bracket standard is the PressFit 30. Buried within the monocoque carbon fiber frame are Carbon NanoTubes, which are micro-particles in the resin that make the carbon layup stronger and more fracture-resistant.

Oltre been top of the line where the sempre pro fit in ? Can it be a good road racer , climber , every day bike etc ? Thank you

Thanks for the question. The Sempre is a step down from the Oltre, but maybe not a full step. It’s designed as more of an all-day bike and because of that, you don’t want the stiffness associated with the highest levels of carbon used on the Oltre. I’d list this as a top end classics bike and a the Oltre as a road race/crit bike.

For the naked carbon / black frame, does bianchi use paint or decals?

The Sempre actually uses a combination of both paint decals. The under colors are paint and the names/writing/ details are decals. Let me know if you are ready to enter an order or have other questions.

Wonderfully predictable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I came to the Sempre Pro almost entirely by accident, after years of riding more aero oriented frames, and was actually quite skeptical that it would meet my needs in terms of responsiveness and acceleration on the flats. I thought that a Bianchi would be delightfully predictable if not boring. What I have found, on everything from sprints to KOM Strava segments, is that this bike just delivers. It eats up the road with a refined ride that I have only ever experienced on the R3-SL, it climbs with natural aplomb, and much to my surprise, it will spring to action with the first kick of a sprint effort. The bottom bracket is higher than my previous rides, which makes you feel both taller but also more in control. Ascend and Descend like it's your job. Buy it with an electronic gruppo, and you will find a very well designed, responsive, stiff, and dare I say regal ride worthy of a pro tour attack or (more likely) a solo rouleur effort. I wanted to be skeptical of a legacy brand, and what I have found is that Bianchi delivered a PRO-worthy frame. Go for black on black, and thank Competitive Cyclist later.
