Sempre Pro Carbon Road Bike Frameset - 2015

The word “sempre” in the Bianchi Sempre Pro Carbon Road Bike Frameset’s name translates into always, and we’re inclined to think that it’s fitting. That’s because the Sempre Pro draws on almost 150 years of Italian heritage, as well as the very best of modern composite engineering, and the result is a bike that’s ready for anything. So whether your aims are racing, training, or riding with friends, the Sempre is a worthy partner, regardless of the pursuit.

Bianchi opted to employ monocoque construction, which means that the Sempre Pro’s carbon fiber frame is molded as one piece. The use of monocoque construction allowed Bianchi complete control in developing the Sempre. From the geometry, to the tube shaping, to the layup, each factor is able to be optimized, without compromises.

It's been made stronger through the use of Carbon NanoTube technology. This process involves adding nano-scaled particles to the resin. By doing so, the particles reduce the microscopic gaps between the resin and the fibers of the carbon. Ultimately, this increases the strength and fracture-resistance by 49% compared to using standard epoxy resin systems. Additionally, because this additive reduces the amount of material needed, it enabled Bianchi to build a frame with a smoother ride, in addition to the obvious benefits of lightness. Since the chainstays are oversized, the Ultra Thin Seat Stays (or UTSS for short) serve to balance the load firmly, yet lightly, maximizing the vibration damping. And that means greater comfort over a variety of road surfaces.

Moving to the front of the Sempre, the tapered, full carbon fiber B4B fork’s straight blade design cuts through the wind, while providing predictable and nimble handling. And as with the previous version, the Sempre features a tapered carbon head tube. The 1-1/8 x 1-1/2in design bolsters the front triangle's rigidity, but it also creates a purposeful surface design that increases laminar flow over the bike. Complementing this is the Sempre’s internal cable routing, which is compatible with both electronic and mechanical shift systems. To further enhance stiffness, and in turn efficiency, the Sempre employs a PressFit 30 bottom bracket shell, which maximizes rigidity by providing more contact with both the down tube and oversized chainstays.

The Bianchi Sempre Pro Carbon Road Bike Frameset is available in six sizes, from 50cm to 61cm, and in the colors Carbon/black and Black/celeste.
