Assos Uma.LL Tight - Without Insert - Women's $449.95
Bibs that fit.
The design of the typical bib strap might work great for men, but it obviously doesn't provide the same fit for women. That's why we love the ABC-M locking mechanism of the Assos Uma.LL Tight. Using a single-suspender design that leads up the center of the chest, the Uma.LL provides an unparalleled level of fit and comfort. Even better, the Uma.LL has been made to withstand the tormenting cold of winter. Warm, comfortable, and dry — that sounds like the right way to ride.
The Assos Uma.LL Tight use a sixteen panel construction made from six different proprietary fabrics. Why so many? Because the bib tights are designed to fit like a second skin. Literally. The first, and most notable, feature towards this means is the Uma.LL's single-suspender design. Assos touts this as the pinnacle of anatomic bib straps, and we have to say that we agree with them. Going between the breasts, instead of over them, the single-suspender strap is capable of conforming to every body type. In addition, the suspender uses Assos' ABC-M locking mechanism that allows it to be locked into three different positions for an optimal fit.
Not only did Assos reinvent the bib strap for the Uma.LL, but the entire approach to how a bib tight should fit was put under the microscope. The uma.LL's cut has been designed with the tucked-in riding position in mind — this is where the sixteen panel construction plays in. To achieve this, the knee sections have been incorporated into a panel that runs from the hip to just below the kneecap. This pattern reduces pleating, and thus eliminates fabric-friction and abrasion throughout the leg. Additionally, the multiple patterns allow the bib tights to follow the body's contours throughout the predictable movements of cycling. Furthermore, the fit is held securely by seamless footbridge stirrups that bolster the continuity of the bib tights' warming insulation layer.
For warmth, the uma.LL's perfect, insulating fit is assisted by Assos' Airblock membrane. As its name suggests, this material blocks chilly winds from penetrating the tight, and accordingly protects you from windchill. For maximum effectiveness, Assos recommends wearing these tights between the temperatures of 32 and 47 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Assos Uma.LL Tight - Without Insert - Women's is available in sizes Medium and Large and in the color Black.
