Assos T FI.Mille_s5 regularLeg Bib Shorts $0.00
Seeing as the FI.Mille A.360 bib shorts stood as one of Assos' most popular designs for nearly a decade, the Swiss apparel designer wanted to keep the same fit and technical features alive and well for the revamped version. That's exactly the case with the new T FI.Mille_s5 regularLeg Bib Shorts, as they stand in as Assos' go-to shorts for maximum long-distance comfort. After all, they earned the "long distance shorts" nickname for good reason — delivering the ultimate in both protection and support over the long haul.
The long distance aspect arose out of two key characteristics: First off, the T FI.Mille_s5 provides more stretch and less compression than the FI.13_s5. This is due to the fabric selection, the cutting lines of the fabric, and the number of total panels of fabric. And while the added stretch and malleability of the fabric provides less muscle compression than the FI.13, it moves with a silken closeness to your body as you pedal. If you've ever ridden for six hours at a clip, you know how much little things matter, and this is one of those comfort details that you'll appreciate.
The T FI.Mille_s5 makes strategic use of A430 fabric to wick sweat away from your body, keeping you cool and comfortable during your longest training rides. In addition to this, it's built with the same AEPD cut as the FI.13_s5, meaning that it "clicks" into place on your body when you're reaching for the bars. The added stretch of the T FI.Mille_s5 gives it a perceptible level of comfort. Bigger riders will appreciate how the T FI.Mille_s5 fabric stretches laterally on the body with greater ease than the FI.13_s5.
The other long distance characteristic of the T FI.Mille_s5 is its chamois. Like the FI.13_s5, the chamois is curved to perfectly fit your body, and it has a cut at the front of the insert to reduce pressure at the perineum. Additionally, it has the same softness and heat-ventilation dimples of the FI.13 chamois. What gives the T FI.Mille_s5 chamois its long distance designation, however, is the fact that it's a bit bigger in surface area than the FI.13. It also stretches less than the FI.13, and it has a stabilizer built into the chamois that causes it to move less during your pedal stroke.
The Assos T FI.Mille_s5 regularLeg Bib Shorts are available in six sizes from Small to TIR and in the color Black. Please Note: Assos now makes these bib shorts in a long and regular leg length. This is the regular version, which is 4cm shorter than the longLeg.

Great Bib shorts
Since buying my first pair of assos bib shorts I've been a loyal fan. Got these at a great price so I picked up a total of 3 pairs. I'm 5'10" 200-205 and L fits perfect. Looking forward to receiving T Campionissmo S7 bib shorts I just ordered.
Made me downsize the wardrobe...
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I hate to admit it, but I'm an Assos convert now. I started with the s7 neoPro and absolutely loved them. Saw these and couldn't pass up the offer at the price. The first ride was 75 miles, and these felt so great I rode in them again the next day! Any complaint I've had about my other bib shorts I do not have in these... I just wish I would have believed the hype a long time ago and then I wouldn't be stuck thinning out the kit drawer... 5'9", 195 pounds and a L fits perfect.
Get 'em while they're "cheap"
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Yup, could not even tell I had rode 45 miles having worn these. The chamois felt like, well, some wondrous combination of suede, velvet and felt all mixed into one luxurious pelvic experience...get 'em and invest in something nice for yourself. you put in all the hard work riding, shouldn't your apparel? And at $215 they are relatively cheap compared to other Assos offerings but it's worth it and plus, you can register your specific pair of Mille bibs on their website and if anything ever goes wrong with them send them back for a replacement. Talk about warranty!
Expensive for a reason..
Assos makes some incredible cycling gear. While I think some of it is ridiculously priced, and therefore I will never be able to purchase any unless it were marked down 85% (cough cough CC) the Mille is the most comfortable bib I've had the pleasure of using. I wear mine while riding my mountain bike now, with some equally expensive MTB baggies over them, and I forget that I'm even riding my bike. Hard to go wrong with these, especially at the current discount. I can only imagine how awesome the new S7s will be.
best bibs ever
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
There's a reason Assos is so well regarded. After going with Pearl Izumi again when renewing my bibs I was disappointed with the new leader pro's and tried Assos. SOOO much better. Better fabric, seams, cut and much better chamois.
