Assos sV.climaSchutz Vest - Men's $228.95
The Assos sV.climaSchutz Vest is a sleeveless top unlike any other. It's a light, thin, compactable armless shell that is wind-resistant, water-resistant, breathable, and possesses a little stretch. It's a marked change from the wind vest you most likely possess in that the panels are more water- and wind-resistant.
Take a moment to consider the difference between water-proof and water-resistant. If you're riding hard in damp to wet conditions, water-proof might become uncomfortably hot. Back in the not-too-distant past, racers would customize PVC plastic rain jackets by cutting the long sleeves short or removing them entirely. But even with this added venting, the customized jackets still breathed like plastic bags.
The sV.climaSchutz is like that vest, only exponentially better. The material is lighter, compacts smaller, and it breathes. No, it isn't waterproof, but if you're riding hard, waterproof might be uncomfortably hot. Think of it as a lighter, more breathable Assos ClimaJet vest, with more features.
Up front, you have a full zipper for easy entry, exit, and temperature regulation. On the sides there are breathable panels for venting vapor without exposing your body to the cold wind or rain. The jacket fits close, giving just the right amount of stretch. In back, there are pocket flaps on the left and right sides so you can access the pockets of the jersey or jacket underneath. The climaSchutz also possesses its own emergency pocket, which will fit a mobile electronic device, identification and keys. The waist is snugged with elastic. The rear drops down pretty far over the butt to keep wet spray to a minimum. And, because this is Assos, the material was specifically designed not to rustle in the wind.
As with all Assos tops, it's cut for riding. If you stand upright with the jacket fully zipped, the shoulders will feel narrow, and the length short. Bend over for the bars, however, and it will feel just right.
The Assos sV.climaSchutz Vest comes in Transparent White so your jersey and race number can be seen underneath. Sizes run from X-Small to TIR.

Just don't tell your wife what it costs.. This is the best fitting most comfortable vest I've ever owned. I really couldn't believe I was paying this much money when I bought it, but seriously, it's worth it.
The description of fit is spot on, you will feel very odd standing around in the thing, but on the bike its really perfect.
