Assos SS.Uno s7 Jersey - Short-Sleeve - Men's $188.95
Formed to fit.
Since its inception, Assos has been the leading innovator in cycling apparel. Racking up patent after patent, while continually developing new textiles, Assos has never been content with new designs just for the sake of new graphics. That's why we're excited to introduce the new SS.Uno s7 Jersey. The SS.Uno features textiles, patterns, and technologies that make it the best fitting jersey on the market. The SS.Uno Short Sleeve jersey is a must for anyone looking for the best apparel that money can buy.
The Assos SS.Uno is constructed from four textiles, 15 patterns, and 12 components. The short sleeve jersey also features the new custom Assos fabric, Type.vX121, on the front and rear panels. Type .vX121 is designed for the SS.Uno. It's constructed from a two- surface, triple microfiber filament that forms a single-layer fabric with unique push/pull characteristics. The proprietary textile performs multiple roles at once; keeping you dry, cool, comfortable, and blocked from the wind. Type .vX121 is not only incredibly light, but it dries 34% faster than the previous generation Assos Plasma fabric.
Building off of the legendary mod.Uni jersey, the SS.Uno reflects years of constant evolution towards the goal of the perfect jersey. Features like the ultra-thin spandex shoulder panels are shared today with the SS.Uno; only Assos has now perfected the fit. The SS.Uno features a pre-shaped anatomical fit that "clicks-on" once zipped. To allow free movement, Assos has tailored the short sleeve jersey to move with your body through any cycling position.
Thanks to the limited stretch of the back panel, no stabilizer panel is needed on the rear of the jersey. The SS.Uno has three rear pockets, with a fourth zip side pocket for MP3 players. The entire jersey has a permanent antibacterial treatment to protect against material degradation from sweat. The jersey also offers UV 50+ protection, and has reflective edges on the rear pockets.
The Assos SS.Uno s7 Jersey - Short-Sleeve - Men's is available in six sizes from Small to TIR, and in the colors Black Volkanga, Blue Calypso, Red Swiss, White Panther, and Yellow Volt.

Excellent performance jersey
Since receiving this jersey I have used it on two rides: A 2 hour hill workout and a longer 4 hour tempo ride. Both rides were in approximately 80-83*F weather, and sunny. As a basis for comparison, I have an SS.13 jersey that I have been using for the past 3 or 4 years. I am 5'9" 167lbs, and I wear a Large in both jerseys.
Fit: The Uno does not provide as much compression as the SS.13 but still features a fairly tight race fit. This is certainly not a "club fit" jersey. It hugs your body snugly, and Assos' signature AEPD cut pulls at you when standing, but really snaps into place in the riding position. The fit truly clicks in when in the drops. The sleeve length is neither too long nor too short, and comfortably grips your arms without being overly snug. The close fit also prevents the jersey from flapping around when descending.
Material: The primary fabric of the jersey is highly breathable and has excellent moisture wicking properties, though is not quite as luxurious feeling as that of the SS.13. Compared to the SS.13, it leaves a little to be desired in terms of heat dissipation, but is not far off. The mesh panels on the underarms are a welcome addition and help to keep things dry. The the less elastic back panel is only slightly less stable than the back panel of the SS.13 which has the inelastic strip in the middle. All this means is that you have to be a bit more judicious with the way you pack your pockets.
Storage: The pockets (including the zippered pocket) on this jersey are fairly large (larger than the SS.13 pockets), making it ideal for long days in the saddle where you may need to hold more food, or an extra layer. The size of the pockets mean that the opening is a little higher, and can be slightly difficult to reach into when at speed but not in a serious way.
Overall, this is a great jersey for training rides of any length in warm to hot weather. For racing, the SS.13 is still the winner for me, but not by a tremendous margin.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
In terms of looks, function, fit and comfort, I'm not sure if it gets any better than this.
When I first got into bicycling, I tried on several jerseys from various other brands and after being continually unsatisfied with the looks, materials and fit, I kept returning them. My friend let me wear one of his old Assos jerseys one time on one of my first rides and I loved the look and how it fit, but I wasn't sure if I should spend that much.
When I ordered this jersey and tried it on, everything changed for me. It was the best-looking, best-fitting thing I had ever worn. I could not believe how chic AND badass this thing looked.... and yet the materials, stitching and comfort were all unparalleled! The other jerseys I tried didn't even come close. Once you try on an Assos garment, you realize that there is nothing that even remotely compares and that the price is justified. So much attention has been given to every little detail... every seam, every little stitch, every fabric. Assos puts so much work into designing the technology, materials, fit and construction of their garments.... AND they are amazingly good-looking. This is what made me decide to switch exclusively to Assos for all of my bicycling apparel and accessories.
This jersey is very form-fitting, so it helps if you are in good shape, like looking good and like to flaunt it. If it is zipped all the way up, it only really feels comfortable in the seated riding position with hands on the bars (as is the case with all Assos tops). I ride very hard and go on long rides. This thing has endured thousands of hot, sweaty miles. Aside from the white on the arms getting slightly darker (probably due to immense amounts of dirt & grime from the road), this jersey has not worn much... I don't think a single thread has come loose. I am 5"11, 150 lbs., very athletic and slim... I ordered my red Uno jersey in size small and it fits beautifully.
