Item # AAS002K

Swiss perfection.

Assos' new SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey was designed with the same attention to the most finite detail that you expect from Assos, only with the added benefits of new fabrics and a more comfortable, streamlined fit. In fact, the Assos SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey is based on the same design platform as the Swiss National Team's short sleeve jersey (also made by Assos), which means that you get the same technical fabrics as Cancellara and his teammates, but in colorways that're more suited to your personal style.

The majority of the SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey is constructed from the brand new Assos Textile Lab Development - Type 151 fabric. This innovative material was designed with body temperature regulation in mind, as its composition works to transfer moisture at varying rates. When your body is hot, and your perspiration levels are high, the material reacts by accelerating moisture transfer from your skin to the fabric's surface, where it dries quickly. Inversely, when your body cools down, the opposite results, where the evaporation process slows down, using body moisture as a means of retaining warmth. For additional body temperature control and increased moisture wicking, the SS.mangussta_s7's underarm panels have been constructed with Assos' highly elastic, lightweight mesh. The placement of this material provides you with both a free range of motion and enhanced breathability.

In terms of fit, the SS.mangussta_s7 jersey is situated between the SS.Uno_s7 and SS.Mille. This translates to a contoured fit that isn't too loose or too tight, complementing larger body types and those who prefer a smoothly stretching, supportive top over a compressive, race-cut jersey. Of course, this jersey, like all Assos jerseys, has been designed to accommodate the body within the cycling position. Accordingly, you'll find that the fit feels tight and oddly contoured while standing. However, the moment that you stretch to the hoods or get into the drops, you'll feel that signature Assos "click," and your ride will be guaranteed to be absent of any bunching, chafing, or pinching.

With two different fabrics, and twenty-four parts and components, comprising the S.mangussta_s7 jersey, you're able to ride assured that no detail was overlooked during the design process. Examples of this become apparent when looking at the small, but necessary, features that're built into the jersey. In addition to the three lower back panel pockets, a zippered "safety pocket" was sewn onto the right rear pocket, allowing you to stash your keys and cash, as well as route your headphone wires through the inside of the jersey. Other finishing touches include rear reflective visibility stripes, a covered, full-front zip, and an elastic/silicone hem at the rear.

The Assos SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey is available in seven sizes from X-Small to TIR (which translates to XXX-Large) and in the colors Black Volkanga, Blue Calypso, Red Swiss, White Panther, and Yellow Volt. According to the Assos Layering System ClimaRange, this jersey falls into both the spring.1 summer.2 categories. In English, this means that Assos recommends wearing it from around 65 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Disappointed. Not as good as before.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Very nice fit, if you get the right size. (5'11" 41" chest is size XL for me). Nice collar -- not the ultra-tall collar Assos has installed on most of their other jerseys this year. Now for the bad news: FIRST, the fabric on the back of the jersey is very stretchy. If you load a water bottle into a back pocket, the fabric will stretch and sag and the water bottle (or other heavy item) will end up hanging below your backside or falling out on the ground. This is different than any Assos jersey I've owned in the past. In fact, I purchased Assos in the past because the supportive material made it possible to carry full water bottles in the rear pockets without any worries. This is disappointing. SECOND, Assos means it when they say this jersey is designed for use with a base layer. Even with a skintight fit, if you don't wear a base layer, you may fall prey to dreaded nipple chafing. I haven't had this problem with any jersey in a very long time -- and never with a well-fitted jersey -- but I've had the problem with this one. I won't wear it again without a base layer. That's a shame, because I bought the jersey for hot weather when I would rather not wear a base layer. Assos makes the best bib shorts in the industry. Jerseys, not so much.

in assos we trust

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: large

In my opinion, assos makes the best cycling clothing on the market today...and it also has the steepest prices. But the quality and performance of the garment leads the field for the person with the athletic body..no bulges please!

Beware- they changed the fabric

I have two Mangussta's I bought from CC about 1 year ago. The medium fits me race snug (I'm 5'11", 165 waist 30" chest 39") and the large still snug but a bit more comfortable. I LOVE THEM. I've tried several other brands and these are hands down my favorite. BUT... I just ordered and received a new jersey (white to go with yellow and red) and the jersey IS NOT THE SAME!. The fabric has clearly been changed. It is thinner and less stretchy and therefore less compressive. I'm not sure if this was a redesign or simply a change made to reduce cost. What gives ASSOS?!

    Great jersey

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL

Love this jersey. This is my every-day riding jersey for warm-hot weather. The cut is for an intermediate, somewhat aggressive riding position, which means it is fairly short in the front when standing. However, when on the hoods or in the drops it's perfect. I guess that's the Assos "click-on" thing.

Sizing on this runs small. I'm 5'11" with a 41" chest, and have to wear an XL in the SS.manggussta_s7. I tried the L, which the Assos size chart led me to, and it was obviously too small, both in front length (can you say belly shirt ?), and really tight through the shoulders and arms. Thanks to Competitive Cyclist's easy return and exchange policy, an XL proved to be perfect. It's snug, without being tight, and no excess bagginess to flap in the breeze. When the fit is right it works really well with the Assos skinFoil base layers, both summer and spring/fall.

Good stuff but watch the length.

    • Size Bought: XS

Received today and the product is quality. I bought a XS based on the size chart at 6' 1" 35.5" chest, 29" waist, 149 lbs.

However, belly jersey for me. I run a S in Castelli and Rapha for comparison.

Will be returning for a size S even though the size chart signifies that it would theoretically fit rather large on me.

I'm 5'7" 140-145. What size jersey would best suit me in the Assos jerseys? I wear a size small in the Mille S5 bib and a medium in the equipe S7 bib if that helps.

    SpiderMan or Hulk?

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Fits like a glove but keeps me cool in the sweltering DC summer heat and humidity. It's a bit fussy (wash in gentle cycle, inside out with only other cycling gear, etc) but boy oh boy does it hold all my stuff with nary a sag.

    Awesome Jersey

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Runs small, though. Size up one level when ordering..

    My new favorite!

I have a lot of jerseys that I love for a variety of reasons, but the Mangussta trumps them all.

The fit is snug; definitely aerodynamic in the shoulders, but the rest is a very comfortable form fit that isn't overly tight like most higher end jerseys these days. They really nailed the fit on this one.

While it may not feel like the thinnest or lightest jersey, it performs with the best on 100+ degree days due to Assos' amazing new 151 fabric.

Not only is the fit perfect, but I have never experienced any level of discomfort, temperature or otherwise with this jersey.

It is hands down my favorite jersey.

      Love it!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Assos does it again. A very well thought out and executed product that is everything and more you could possibly want on the bike. It's always a killer day when it's time to rock your Assos kit again!

I loved the intricacies of this jersey. Starting with the Assos Textile Lab Development - Type 151 fabric, which worked perfectly as advertised. Seriously, that fabric is nuts! Keeps you cool when you need to be cool, keeps your warm when you need to be warm. I also leave the ease of use of the pockets, which are deep enough to carry whatever you need (including a zipper pocket for your phone and wallet), but are just perfectly placed for an easy reach to on the bike.

The material is noticeably more durable than fabrics from other brands, while still remaining exceptionally comfortable and breathable for a wide range of temperatures. I like to pair this with the ASSOS NS.SKINFOIL_SUMMER_S7 - BODY INSULATOR, which is a system that works very well for keeping your core body temperature in check.

Sizing was spot on, on 5'10'' 160 lbs. and the medium is a comfortable fit. Could likely fit the smalls for a tighter fit if needed, but the medium fits well.

      Top-shelf jersey

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

      Personal stats:
      Waist: 32
      Chest: 39"
      Notes: longer torso than average.

I've had the pleasure of using this jersey on some long rides and would like to report some feedback. Assos recommends pairing this with their baselayer as that is how they designed the system for maximum effectiveness. I've used baselayers before with varied success. The Assos SS.skinFoilSummer baselayer paired with this jersey made an immediate impression on me as the best I've worn. We at Competitive are often spoiled with the chance to use top garments from the best companies in the industry. The Assos system is as advertised as far as fit, quality, and moisture wicking abilities. I would recommend this to the discerning customer who demands the best on the market. i wear a size S in their Mille jersey due to the looser cut, but wear a size M in all other Assos gear (bibs, jackets, long sleeve jerseys, etc). Should i stick with a size M in the Mangusta?

      Awesome Piece of Kit

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This Mangussta jersey is the best jersey Assos has yet to put out. The fit is improved over the Uno, Mille, especially the arms and the pockets. I'm 6'2" 175lb and wear a size large in the Mangussta where I wear medium in the Uno and Mille. The pockets sag too low on the Mille and the materials and design of the Uno are of lower quality. The Mangussta fits me beautifully and it's also a smart looking piece of kit. Not too flashy or busy. It looks classy. The real testament to this jersey is something you will hopefully never experience. I crashed hard going downhill and slid across the road on my back and shoulder. When I picked myself up I was bleeding everywhere and my brand new Mangussta and NeoPro shorts were filthy and blood soaked. I was surprised to find my Jersey and shorts were not ripped! I soaked the clothes in Oxy Clean overnight and washed them. I won't say they were as good as new but they looked pretty damn good and I must admit I feel a little bit badass riding with some scuffs on my jersey. Crashing is bad enough without ruining a $400 kit. Assos makes tough and durable clothing. Well worth the money if the fit is right.

Loved this jersey, but needed XL

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

      42 chest

Need XL, not XLG...another confusing aspect of ASSOS is the sizing from the XLG (means XXL) and I,II,III sizing.
