sJ.13 LuftSchutz - Shell

Assos knows that you like to be as unrestricted and streamlined as possible while tucked in the cycling position. But it also knows that the weather often has its own agenda, meaning that you occasionally need a little extra protection aside from your standard kit. That's why it built the ultra-light, thin, compactable sJ.13 LuftSchutz Shell. This outer barrier is wind-resistant, water-resistant, breathable, and possesses a little stretch for comfort.

The Assos LuftSchutz is primarily a super light wind shell. It was constructed from Assos' Hybro V2 material, which provides you with excellent body temperature regulation through its light and breathable composition. Up front, you have a full zipper for simple donning and removal, and you'll use it for temperature regulation. On the sides and under the arms, there are breathable panels for venting vapor without exposing your body to the cold wind or rain.

The jacket fits close, giving just the right amount of stretch. In back, there are pocket flaps on the left and right sides so you can access the pockets of the jersey underneath. The LuftSchutz also possesses its own pocket where you can store a mobile electronic device, identification, or keys. The wrists are sealed with a neoprene-like material, giving both good stretch and an air-tight grip. The waist holds firm with elastic. The rear drops down to keep wet spray to a minimum. The material was specifically designed not to rustle in the wind.

As with all Assos tops, it's cut for riding. If you stand upright with the jacket fully zipped, the shoulders will feel narrow, the length short, and the arms long. Reach for the bars, however, and it will feel just right.
