Helping you claw your way through winter.

If you aren't familiar with Assos' lobsterShell 851 gloves, the new shellGloves_s7 might seem a little strange upon first glance. But for those who are in the know about Assos' famous glove shells, having put the earlier iteration to the fall-and-winter-riding test, this updated split-finger design will be a welcome addition to your cold-weather apparel arsenal.

Similar to the lobsterShell 851, the new shellGloves_s7 were designed to be worn on their own for crisp autumn days, or over the earlyWinterGloves_s7 when things really cool down. As a two-part system, maximum protection from the penetration of cold air is provided. Another benefit of mating the gloves together in the manner of the Assos Layering System (ALS) is that a warm layer of air is able to circulate between the two layers.

And like the earlyWinter, the shellGloves_s7's shape is articulated to mirror the shape of your hand when it's grasping the handlebar. The shape places your index and middle fingers in one spot, and your ring and pinky fingers in another. The thumb is kept free to facilitate braking, shifting, and grip.

The gloves were made using a strategic blend of polyamide, polyurethane, and spandex in order to block the wind, which keeps the arctic air from reaching your hands. An extended pull-on cuff stretches up well past your wrist, ensuring complete coverage when paired with Assos' jackets and skinFoil base layers.

The Assos shellGloves_s7 are available in six sizes from XX-Small to X-Large and in the color Black Volkanga. If you're familiar with Assos' ALS Climarange, these gloves fall into Early Winter 5 category. However, if you're not fluent in Assos, it means that they're appropriate for temperatures ranging from around 35 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit without a liner.
