Assos legProtectors S7 Leg Warmer $78.95
Your sun and cool weather shield.
There's a reason that Assos decided to name its new coverage layers 'protectors.' As with everything Assos, the design and function of these new layers provide specific benefits to you while out in the elements. With the legProtectors S7, you receive incredibly lightweight and breathable coverage for your legs, with the added benefit of built-in UV protection.
The S7 protectors fall under Assos' 'UV & Chill' line, meaning that they were designed to shield you from the sun's powerful rays as well as provide a warming layer in cooler riding conditions. Assos claims that the protectors provide a UV50 rating, so rest assured that your smooth skin is safely guarded underneath. They were constructed from ultra-thin proprietary blends of Assos' wicking spandex material for minimal, but efficient, leg coverage.
Perhaps the best characteristic of the Protectors is their anatomic shape. Assos built them around its Assos Ergonomic Pattern Design (AEPD) design, which precisely factors in your body's shape while in the tucked cycling position. The panels were cut on a curve, eliminating the fabric bunch and abrasion that often results from many other arm and leg warmer layers.
The Assos legProtectors S7 are available in the color Black Volkanga and in the sizes 0 (X-Small/Small), I (Medium/Large), and II (X-Large/XX-Large).

What is the difference between these and...
What is the difference between these and the legWarmers.s7 Leg Warmer. Are these more of a "protector" for warm and sunny conditions as hinted by the UV protection? Or is it a true cool weather warmer like the other one that is double its price?
Kevin I have the product that you are asking about on this page but I don't have the one that is more expensive. I can tell you from having this product that it is more of a sun cover that has some slight warming properties. Like it would be good for a cooler Southern California riding day but I can't say that it is a 100% protector like a sun sleeve for yours arms as it does have a hint of warmth. Would I call it a leg warmer no, as warmers usually have the fleece like inside and these do not or it is so slight that its hard to tell. To try and answer you it is NOT a cold weather item, a cool mid or upper 60's F sure but anything below that no.
