Assos kneeProtectors_S7 Knee Warmers - 2013 $0.00
Say goodbye to your Lycra tan.
Sometimes your knees need a light covering, something with the same insulating properties, or lack thereof, as your shorts. This is a time for Assos kneeProtectors. Maybe you prefer knickers to shorts. Maybe the skin on your knees is still tender from that crash last week, maybe you need just a little bit of material to take the edge off the slight chill in the air. They have simple welded grippers to hold them to your legs, even when you get sweaty. The best part is that they're superlight and offer effective UV protection (no need for chemical sunscreen) for the tops of your exposed thighs and go all the way down to your calves.
The Assos kneeProtectors come in Black. There are three sizes -- 0, I, and II.

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I love these knee "protectors". When temperatures drop below 65, this is the perfect knee warmer. They provide just enough warmth and protection when there is a nip in the air. It does not have too much insulation, but keeps those knees warm and moving free. I have had a knee injury, and I am a little more sensitive to the colder temps. I have not ever had any problems with slippage.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Was super excited to see these knee warmers go on sale since, after all, they were Assos. Upon opening the package, I was impressed with the fit and finish, although not having any type of "gripper" at the top of the warmer was worrisome. But hey, they're Assos. Went for an hour-long MTB ride and everything seemed fine. A little slippage and an annoying external tag (on both legs!) were overlooked. Then went out on the road with some climbing that required being in and out of the saddle. I was VERY disappointed when I had to stop and adjust each leg TWICE because they were falling down. Not having any kind of fabric or "gel" or other mechanism to keep them up is just wishful thinking.
